iPhone 4S -- neither of my partner or I have ever had any troubles with an iPhone, or any other i-device (of which we have many) for that matter.

LG Optimus V (Droid) on Virgin Mobile. It's a decent phone for the price.

Paradox: Life is a mystery; don't waste time figuring it out.
Humor: Keep a sense of humor, especially about yourself. It is a strength beyond all measure
Change: Know that nothing stays the same.

16gb iPhone 4s.  Have never had any problems with the 4s or 3gs that were not self-inflicted (left my 3gs laying in a puddle of liquid on a hotel nightstand and had to buy a new LCD display).  Everything about the 4s and the software is very intuitive and simple.

With a Defender series Otter Box I'm never worried about my phone breaking if I drop it.  Sometimes I'll drop it from shoulder height on the pavement just to show people how durable it is.  I read a news story about a guy dropping an iPhone out of his pocket while skydiving (with no protective casing) and recovering it using the Find My iPhone app.  The screen was cracked but it retained its functionality, so I'm not too worried about my sidewalk demo.

Not sure what I'll do with my S1, I have a couple weeks to figure that out before my i5 gets here. I went with the 64gb. I ended up paying less for it than I originally anticipated. It was supposed to come out next week but it sold out within an hour of being for sale so Apple pushed back the release. The i5 has gorilla glass which is stronger than the glass used on previous models (it's also the glass used for the iPads).

Wall-mounted land-line, forty-plus years old.  "To dial a number" is not a metaphor hereabouts at Ming's place.  The phone works fine.  Tell me how your present one works in--oh, let's be generous--twenty years.

Carry a phone around?  There are many positive things to being "out of touch" for much of the day.  If it's really important, they'll call back; it it's not, none of your time was wasted.

Same here, only mine sits on the desk instead of wall-mount. Spinning that dial is a delight. And the audio quality is superb.

And I can guarantee I've never had to say, "Can you hear me now?"

Not an Apple-Head here--I have an iPod, not the biggest, not the smallest.  My wife has the iPhone3 and she's happy with it.  I prefer my Razr with a larger screen and more capabilities--it literally has been a critical help in so many things, for example it was extremely handy and useful when I had an accident on the motorcycle, providing proof of insurance, calling and texting to my mechanic to get the bike and take it in, etc., etc.

Read and weep, if you've already ordered an iPhone5

While I haven't ordered an iPhone 5 (though I'll likely get one when my 4S contract is up), no weeping here. None of that is important to me.

I have some Android devices, and they're fine, but I prefer the iPhone over Android phones.

(Also, as a software developer, I know too much about the security holes in the Android ecosystem to trust my critical data to it.)

I'm using a Samsung, but I like my old Razor V3 better except for text. I have had an iPhone, an iPod and a very expensive MacBook all of the crapped out within a year...no more Apples for me.

iPhone 4 here but upgrading to the i5 a week from tomorrow. I've been carrying (and using) an iPhone for four years now and I love it! Of all the mobile devices I've used over the years the iPhone is the only one I've ever liked and found reliable.

Since I work as a senior editor for one of the largest Android blogs, I'm pretty dedicated to the little green robot. My phone is a Galaxy Nexus, and I also have several Android tablets. Of those, the Nexus 7 is my daily carry. It's by far the best Android tablet you can buy right now.
