Hi DC: Just like our fellow SBG brother (Bluebriz aka Brian) said. . . I always do an ice cube rub on my face and dome until it melts. It gives that added boost to my routine and it closes the pores instantly.

Thursday, November 7, 2013 SOTD
Razor: GEM 1912
Blade: Gem SS
Soap: Mystic Water Soap Sandalwood Rose
Brush: Semogue Owners Club 2012 SE
Dessert: Ice cube rub, refrigerated WH, refrigerated Captain's Choice
Wow!!! I had another super, smooth shave. For those on the fence who are thinking about the traditional way of shaving. . . I would suggest to try it for atleast 30 days. I am telling you there is nothing better and more challenging and fun. Happy shaves to all my fellow chrome domes!!!

Okay Guys, just did my first DE shave tonight. My tools:
Gillette "Fatboy" adjustable razor.
Rugby DE blades.
Shaving brush (synthetic hair).
Niivea Shave Gel with a dash of Shave Secret
Nivea balm
Ice cube rub.
Wasn't a bad job. Had a few bleeders on the top. However this is my first time and it's gong to take some practice. Am definitely investing in shaving soap or a stick, and some aftershave. Will also do the witch hazel as well. Also will move up to a Badger hair brush.
And as the rest of you guys said, you have to take your time. This can't be a rush job. This will be in the evening unless I really have time in the morning.
However, I think I'm going to like this!

Recently I bid on and won a couple of charity auctions on badger and blade. This razor is one I won there, which allowed me to choose the scales, jimps, and I also chose the French tip. Had my first shave with it this morning, combined with Tabac and my faithful and cheap old Omega. Great shave.
Dessert was witch hazel and Vitos a/s balm.

Hi Mark: I really lost count. I probably own about 20 something razors (DE and SE razors). I only wish more SBG members would try the traditional way of shaving.
