Razor: 1961 Gillette Fatboy (set on 2)

@Schwank, I've never used a Fatboy. How does it shave? Have you used other DEs you could compare it to?

Wednesday, August 7, 2013 SOTD
Razor: Merkur Futur
Blade: Polsilver Super Iridium
Soap: Barrister & Mann Lime/Lavender/Cedarwood
Brush: TSN Semogue 2012 LE
Dessert: Ice cube rub, refrigerated WH, refrigerated Osage Rub
Just had a super, smooth face & dome shave with the Futur (dialed at #6). Also, the Barrister & Mann soaps are amazing. The Lime/Lavender scent screams summer and leaves my skin feeling great. Plus it is made from the good ole USA in Boston. Will from Barrister & Mann gives great customer service.

Tonight was one of those nights. I've learned that even though you feel stubble during the shave, once you do a cold water/ice cube rub, WH and AS, you're left with phenomenal results. I've been getting literally BBS shaves daily for few weeks.

Face shave:
Razor: Kai Captain Excelia
Blade: Kai mild pink
Soap: Tabac
Brush: Semogue 1305 (I think! Warhawk will correct me if I'm wrong!)
Prep was a shower, then the tabac lathered up effortlessly as always.
Dessert was witch hazel followed by Lucido after shave lotion.
A magnificent shave!

Great lookin setup. I shipped two straights to Glen today for honing. Hopefully I don't wreck the edge; do you prefer shavette type razors?

I have and love the folding Kai Captain standard and Excelia. The non-folding I don't like so much.
I like the idea of regular straights more though, so I have 3 headed to the US for honing, and will probably send my Japanese style straight across too if my honing attempts fall short.
I'm determined to learn regular straights though, so have a bunch of cheap Gold Dollars heading my way to practice on. Also need a dremel but it's all part of the fun!
