Every time I'm down, I try to cheer up others ( as I do on this forum ), and it also makes me think positive. Anyone feels alike?

"And, in the end, the love you take is equal to the love you make." -The Beatles
Basically, you get what you give.

Exactly, but in most cases you get back a multiple of what you give, a large multiple. Make the circle larger, not smaller.

Awe, I was hoping to read some "confidence recipes." Some of us Newbies need some.

I was a college dropout at 19, just having quit at a local fast food restaurant and wondering what I would do with myself. I have always had confidence but very low self esteem, and at the time both were in the tank.
Within a year, I was traveling all over the country running other companies businesses and marketing. A year later and for two more I ran company as the director of operations and opened up a $15M assisted living with 90% residency.
How?
There is one secret I learned in business and in life that have become my "recipe" that may help.
#1: Fake it 'till you make it.
So long as you do your best and bust your @$$, you will reap rewards. Learn from your mistakes, and there will be many, and apply the practical and metaphorical lessons to everything else you do. Everything cross-applies.
#2: Do not fear.
There are real things to be afraid of. Tornados is high on my list. Otherwise, the fears that hold you back mean NOTHING. Let me repeat: THEY MEAN NOTHING. Drop them. It is that simple. Want to talk to that girl? Get off your bum and stop being afraid.
#3: Understand your "I"
Ok, I'm getting metaphysical or spiritual or whatever. So what? Until you acknowledge that "you" or the thing you call "me" has nothing to do with you, you are doomed to live like a puppet. This, in my opinion, is why so many sly guys here are so wide awake. Does my hair define the essential me? No! Cut it off and guess what? I'm still me with less hair. The same goes with the rest of my life and yours. Change your job- does that spirit that you call me change? No, it's still the same old you with a different job. Truly liberating.
#4: God. Trust in Him.
Whenever I am in a rut, I have said one personal prayer: "Please help me and guide me wherever you need or want me to go. I will do whatever is necessary, whatever you put in front of me I will try and do everything in my power to succeed." It has never failed.
I suppose there are a few more, but hope this helps a bit. I'm not perfect and I am certainly not saying I'm some super human- Im just struggling through life like everyone else. The one wonder that never ceases to amaze me is that life never stops being ok. The beauty of the birds flying and the flowers blooming greet me every day and are a reminder that it is only the challenges I apply to myself that weigh me down.
God Bless!

Brandon, well said.
I'll add/twist just a little.
First, recognize that appearance and possessions do not define you. The more "stuff" you have, the more energy/resources you have to dole out to maintain/store it. Along with shedding my hair I'm also shedding personal possessions I haven't used within the last 3 years. It's really awesome to see cupboards or drawers which are empty. I feel so much lighter and I am so much more aware of what I have that is *important* to me.
Second, one of my daily affirmations is: I know the Universe (some will say God) provides whatever (resource) I need when I need it and in the form I need; and likewise I make my resources available to others
As you summed in your closing, life is extraordinary IF we make the most of it and take the time to appreciate it.
Knowing (and believing) these things makes me the confident person I am.

We're all divine beings, immortal, born in the image of God... says the Bible. What hinders us from our potential is the veils we cannot see past. Hair can be a mask, a veil and now with that mask gone, the veil is stripped one is reborn! We create our reality by our intent, our true will, our unconscious desire. Are we the reflection or the light? the Star. Confidence you say...
What do you think?
oh and one other thing...with our shiny domes our light is brighter!
