hello fellow chrome domes: if the shaving world came 2 an end & the shaving companies were not able 2 produce any razors; how long will your current supply of razors last?
i'll start: i try 2 buy extra razors every 2 weeks and stash them. if the razor world ended.... i probably have about a one year supply of razors right about now. so... how 'bout U? if the razor world stopped producing... how long will your current supply of razors last? one month? one year? 6 months? 3 months? what's your story?

My mom got a bunch of those hybrid style mach/bic razors that have the disposable handle with a few cartridges so if needed I could use those. Otherwise since I have been broke, I have been using the same blade for a month now with decent results. Not as fast of a shave but it gets the job done. At this rate, I could last a few years between the costco packs I have stocked up in the pantry, the ones momma has, and the half pack in the bathroom.

I could last about a year if i had to.
Remember the post about refreshing or sharpening your razors with jeans? I think we'd all be doing more of that.

When I get down to one blade left, I buy more. So there really is not much stock on hand. Just enough. Perhaps if there was some great sale 75% off or something, I'd buy up. But without a discount, I don't see a reason to buy ahead. Don't have that kind of money to invest in inventory.

I guess I should use that as inspiration to buy an auto strop safety razor. I've been looking for "motivation."

A little over a year on Hydro 5, and about 6 to eight months on M5's. But, if that did happen, wouldn't we all finally tear our remaining hair out by the roots in frustration anyway?

I'd steal someone's straight razor and learn how to use it. I don't have much of a supply right now.

Well I am a DE shaver so I hear about the coming 'shavepocalypse ' from time to time over on the B&B forums.
When my favorite blades were discontinued a few years ago I started stocking up on what remained of them and, based on my rate of shaving and my current supply of blades divided by how many shaves I get per blade, I estimate that I can shave for another 30 years before I run out.

I think when it comes right down to it, we'll start doing Crocodile Dundee style and use knives or what not to shave
