Oh yea we won! We got the WMDz, got the oil, brought peace to the middle east and for only $50 billion and for >4,400 US lives (forget the >700K Iraqis)...such a deal! Victory!

Now if we could only get the frack out of Afghanistan.
Leaving Afghanistan may hurt our war time economy.

I believe if we had, and would, keep our dirty, bloody, dollar-crooked fingers out of the business of these nations so full of depressed, exploited people, they will arrive at a solution of their own. That they design and want. That they fight and work for... and not the American style, which they don't want. Not one crammed down their throats by the Americans. -
General David M. Shoup, MoH, Commandant of the Marine Corps, as the US was invading Vietnam

Or is this a prelude to action with another four letter country that begins with the letter "I"?

That's a good choice, but it could be any country...as long as profits can be made from war, it'll never end and we'll be there.

It's a mistake. Iran will be in there by Spring and then sooner or later we'll have to go back in and it will be harder than ever. Not to mention the blood bath as the shiites and the sunnis go at it and then before, during or after that someone's going to go after the Kurds.
This is great. Something to celebrate. Woo hoo!

And it's one, two, three,
What are we fighting for ?
Don't ask me, I don't give a damn,
Next stop is Iran;
And it's five, six, seven,
Open up the pearly gates,
Well there ain't no time to wonder why
Whoopee! we're all gonna die.

It certainly is interesting. Bears watching considering that one of the penalties we will pay here at home is gonna be gas for $8-10 a gallon.

I never thought I'd say this, but damn, I wish the Clintons were running in 2012.
