Hope her recovery is going smoothly. She'll have rehab to reconsider doing anything with that guy again--and he'll have an even more intensive rehab to realize how foolish he was and how lucky he is to have the pain of rehab to bring the fact home that just because he's young, he's not immortal. I know you've got to be conflicted about him.

Thanks for all your prayers and well wishes.
Jess is doing well. I cannot express how proud I am of how well she is handling this in spite of the pain. She is 5"5" of nothing but TOUGH.
As for the boy I am going to be having a man to man with him. I am trying to be as level headed about this as I can be as I do know he has never really had a proper male role model in his life. He will not have any problem where I stand on this but I am going to try and temper it with a bit of compassion. I already know on good info he is scared enough as it is. What I want is for him to learn and mature through this. You can tear someone apart or choose to take part in helping someone be a better person. I prefer to look past his mistake and try to help him be a better man.
Biggest thing..I am THANKFUL that they are both alive and we have no funerals to attend. That could have easily been the case.

My prayers for your daughter and her friend.
You could always remind him that if he though the accident was painful -- wait until you get through when him the next time he does something like that with your daughter ;-)

H- my prayers are with your daughter and her friend.
It's a tough lesson they learned. It's amazing that many of us made it to adulthood (been there....).
Please keep us posted as they get better!
