I started the Power90 by BeachBody this past weekend. Was looking into the P90X but lots of folks said to start with this as a way to work up to the P90X.
Yes...this is the way I started.....but by day 75 on P90 I was too anxious to start P90X so I crossed over!!

Update... After 6 rounds of P90X and a round of Insanity, I have moved on to P90x2! It has definitely evolved. I'm still in the "foundation" phase, which is all core and balance work. I was in good shape when I started, but it is a whole new level of core work.

I'm very interested in this topic... I started Insanity the first of the year 2012. I will say all of my body could handle it besides my knees. The man declares war on your knees. More power to anyone that has the ligaments to last. I could not walk without pain after a few weeks... and I was drinking water and eating right. Maybe I wasn't drinking enough water- I don't know. One thing is for sure... if you do these extreme programs, you pretty much have to eat what they tell you when, and stretch right, or you're asking for an injury.
I just got p90x. I'm hoping it is a lot easier on my knees. Since there are so many more workouts that vary, unlike insanity which is a lot of plyometrics and cardio focusing on the knees totally, I'm hoping I'll at least be able to build around the knees, and build some strength into my knees. The nutrition plan is a lot more complicated than the Insanity one. I'd say it's harder to follow than the actual workout.
Any joint advice, hit me up. Also- do any of you use the Shakeology or P90x powder? Thoughts??
Also- I am about 5'9-5'10'' and 180-185.

Insanity is pretty rough on the legs. After I did it, I swear it took about a week to get my calves stretched out.
Starting P90X, you may want to do the Cardio X DVD rather than the Plyometrics with your knees being not so great. Other than that, you should be OK. And you can give plyo a try, just wait until you're a little further along.
Once you get through a round or two of P90x, revisit Insanity.
And I do use Shakeology... I started it a couple weeks ago when I signed on with Beachbody as a Coach. And yes, it does live up to all the hype... Flavor is great and it is packed with all kinds of good stuff. If you want to know more, PM me.

Excellent! Thanks for the support! It feels like you're in some sort of club doing these workouts. I turn on some electronic music and just go. Looking forward to starting this one... I'm gonna go buy the equipment today as I didn't have any to begin with. I think I'll stop at GNC and look for shakeology too.
Thanks- I'll try starting the cardio first like you say.

Good for you!! Keep it up and the results are amazing!
One note though, you can't buy Shakeology off the shelf. You have to order it through a coach (me) or Beachbody.com. I'll pm you my coach site (don't want anyone to report me as spam...
