Feel the burn!?

Ok, I've been shaving the dome for a little less than a month. I've noticed that ClearHead, HeadLube, and even the BaldGuys wipes soemtimes burn upon application. It that "normal"? Is it part of the old shaving adage, "If it burns, it must be working"?

Has anyone else come across this? Are there products any of you would recommend that don't do that?
Thanks!

It may be a personnal sensitivity to the products, Doug. I have felt a slight tingling with Clearhead, but never with HeadLube or the Headwipes. Try a refrigerated aloe vera or BaldGuyz Moisturizing gel as an alternative.

It does go away fairly quickly, which is a good thing. I was just wondering if anyone else had run into this.

I have that happen with my Afta lotion, but it's gone in a couple seconds. It could be because the scalp has just been scraped.

I use ClearHead and absolutely love the tingly feeling when applied. That lets me know I got a good close shave.

I got the same sting form the HBlube, but not so much with the Bald Guyz gel. The cold aloe works too.

I've had days where either the blade was dull, or I went over a problem area once too many times that I've had burning from any and all of the products.
I just brace myself and slap it on ... and hope the screaming doesn't make anybody call 911.
But on an average day, they're actually pretty soothing.

My Old Spice stings like hell for a second or two.
