When I first saw "Napoleon Dynamite" ... I thought, WTF is this? But there was so much buzz about it, I gave it another chance....unlike my wife.
It's got a ridiculousness that sorta grows on ya.

Man...Napolean Dynamite is a stupid kind of humor, not your typical punchline jokes...I think its funny as hell.... "Its a liger, pretty much my favorite animal....a mix between a lion and tiger"....retarded funny. You gotta watch it a couple of times tho

Regarding Napoleon Dynamite; interesting reactions, how the first several people hated it , but then a couple people had (faintly) good things to say. Personally, I think (as the Brits say) its f***ing brillliant! . quirky, yes; and maybe a one-shot deal on the part of its makers. But the sight gags and the "punchlines" (or non-punch lines--phrases that are totally bland and meaningless on the surface, but in the context are hilarious. There are actually people who have the whole movie memorized. Among the most memorable line:
Do the chickens have large talons?
Knock it off Napoleon, make yourself a dang qasa-dilla !
I want that!
Well, that place was a rip-off. ...

On another note : my vote for worst movie ever is Valley of the Dolls (1967-68?) When I say it in 1979 it was hopelessly dated; badly acted; worst writing ever. ..... Trainwreck of a movie.

...Valley of the Dolls (1967-68?)
In that same vein are Russ Meyer movies....nice lookin' babes with big boobs (Meyer ALWAYS cast women with big boobs)...but bad movies.
I recently caught a portion of "Faster, Pussycat! Kill Kill"...the cleavage was nice...the plot?....the acting?...ridiculous
Some of you may recall the Seinfeld episode where all the waitresses in Monk's coffee shop had big boobs...
And Seinfeld comments, "It's like something out of a Russ Meyer movie."

Hey Rob,
I think you're confusing "Valley of the Dolls" with BEYOND the Valley of the Dolls" The first was based on Jackie Suzzane's (spelling???) novel; the second was a Russ Meyer film not even remotely related to the original.
"Faster Pussycat ... Kill .. Kill" definitely gets the prize for worst move TITLE ever !

John, you hit the nail right on the head for me on this one. I also thought Napleon Dynamite was brilliant and, in my opinion, funny as hell without drinking or "smoking." What some people don't understand is that it is "a different kind of humor and comedy." It's not your typical in your face, slap stick, or punch line kind of "funny." I guess that's what can turn some people off of movies like this one? They get use to a certain kind of "thing", which in this case is a comedy, and when a movie like Napoleon Dynamite comes out they don't know what to make of it. Except that it's too "out there." Me personally, I like different kinds of humor and different types of movies for that matter. It's kind of like watching Bad Santa and then trying to watch Napoleon Dynamite. You're definitely not going to have the same kind of comedy there. But, to me anyway, they are both just as funny if you open your mind.

My pick for crappiest movie would be "Singles", had a gnarly sound track though.

I also loved Napoleon Dynomite. For those that dig this movie try Nacho Libre. That one is by the same writer/director and even funnier IMHO.
