I agree it is being blown out of proportion. I didnt realize that until after the fact that I put reflective plastic on my windows, sealed all air leaks and vents in our house. Even bought a new furnance that had an allergy filter on it. We have even installed a decontamination device at our doors at work and home for people who come and go. What a waste of money. Oh well. Oh and dont forget, dont let your kids eat dirt.

Everybody needs to calm down. over 36,000 people die of the flu every year in the US alone. This is another strain of flu. So, we have 100 cases in the US and no one has died (the infant in TX was visiting from Mexico). There are 306,000,000 people in the US. Percentage wise, this is less important than your average flu season. Healthcare in other parts of the world is not as advanced as it is here. our standards are MUCH higher!
It's just a strain of flu. Flu spreads every year all over the world and never makes the news. Things are getting way out of hand. I'll bet that some senior administration officials who were recently under fire (and were getting calls to resign **cough janet napolitano **cough) are trying to justify their jobs by acting in "crisis mode" now.

I think what's freaking people out is the deaths in Mexico. The thing they don't realize is that the health conditions in Mexico and the health conditions in the US are completely different. I wouldn't be shocked if most of the deaths in Mexico were in someone with poor living conditions and inadequate health care.

The rest of the world does not have the living conditions or health care standards that we have here in the US. I agree with Tyler, probably very poor relatively isolated parts of the country.

I think there will be other parts of the world that have comparable (if not better) health care standards and living standards than the US.

Let me clarify. I didn't mean to imply that the US was the ONLY place that has high standards.

Didn't take it personal. After re-reading it, I did sound rather crass.

I noticed that crude oil dropped a bit after the media coverage. I wonder if its going to go up again after this hysteria.
