alot of you guys sound bitter...why?
if this actually works with no side effects etc.., i would do it.
maybe because im only 20 and its hard with the jokes and stuff, but i miss having hair. and also im light skin with dark hair so my shadow is very visible and its like u can almost see my damn hairline still...its like whats the point in shaving my head?
no one said its a disease, but face it...none of us were happy when we found out we were losing hair or am i wrong? no one wanted to start going bald. -

IF it was a cure, yeah I would. No snake oils or potions to temporarily give you marginal results that costs an arm and a limb.
But, I would also still shave. I like how it looks. -

From the look of your avatar pic it doesnt look like you got a real balding problem anyway: about like mine, in fact. I choose to be bald, so of course I wouldnt want a cure.
I think most people on this thread were just unhappy (and sounding 'bitter' as you put it) because of the word 'cure' - as if balding is some kind of disease. It's a little like suggesting you need a cure for being gay or black or disabled or whatever. I don't happen to think any of these things need curing, and neither does baldness, unless people are totally unhappy with the way they look, of course.
Me? I love being bald, and certainly wouldnt go out of my way to grow loads of hair!

All else being equal I think it would be cool to have a full head oh hair again. I love the shaved head look, but wouldn't mind being able to change it up every once in a while. Would love a tight flattop.

I used to feel that way, but I really don't care for the flattop look as much as I used to and I really can't think of any other hairstyle that I'd like to have. It took me a long time to come around to this way of thinking, but I really view hair as more of a hassle than anything else. I wouldn't want to go back to having hair under any circumstances. If I had a full head of hair now, I think I'd be very jealous of all the shiny bald heads at the gym. -

Same here DG, I don't care for the flat top myself.
I wouldn't mind the option of changing it up now and then. I still have enough hair to grow, but not like I used to. It would be nice to experiment with some of the different looks.
Luckily I still have the ability to do some variation. But it's much tougher for the guys who have an acute horseshoe. -

Vacationed in New Hope (PA) the other day; the bikers hang out there at the anqiguing/arts n crafts world of New Hope. Many were sly and u couldnt tell if they had hair or not. Im not for the cure. Its a kewl look.

Nah! They are always promising these things.. besides how does it matter.. I mean sure it would be cool to be able to change your look once in a while.. but thats all.... and you know the more you count on these follicular miracles, the more you sometimes can tend to not like your sly head.... if it happens good.. if not no big deal......
Sure we can miss having hair... but you have a head full of hair and you miss being sly once you get used to it!!

A lot of guys on this site love their shaved head. Many are balding naturally, but many (like me) shave a full head of hair. I for one feel as comfortable as a clown at a funeral (not a MJ joke) when I have to let my hair get 4 or 5 days long because I'm just not me.
If someone were to come to this board and say "I can no longer shave my head because ..."
- "I get ingrown hairs."
- "I get a bad rash."
- "I have moles that get cut."
I can guarantee that people would suggest various forms of medical advice, and that's the problem! Why is it OK for one person to seek expensive and/or medical treatments to maintain their look while it's a sign of negative psychological problem for someone else to seek an expensive and/or medical treatment to maintain theirs? Why is it different when someone has the look we do not like?
Is someone who wants to maintain a shaved head a tool of Gillette's "greed"? Are they puppets of Headblade's clever marketing? Or are they living under the delusion that their after shave will cause a group of hot women to flock to them at the bar? Of course not, but that's the EXACT ATTITUDE this thread is filled with for those who choose to like their hair.
And so what if someone's spending their money on this research? As long as it's private money and not government money it's none of our concern! Imagine how scary it would be to have a single person decide the most important use of resources and force them to be allocated there! And, besides, all of these scientific breakthroughs interact with each other at some point anyway. You never know how one thing will affect another. For example, the entire VCR /DVD era probably either wouldn't have happened or would have been substantially delayed if it wasn't for the porn industry.
So there's an incredible breakthrough in hair loss prevention coming out? COOL! I hope it works out for them. Me? I'll be shaving.

I'm sceptic.
Even if it is legit I think it will be over priced and high risk with no guarantees. But then again, all these techniques are one step closer to perfecting theregrowth of hair, or prevent losing it altogether. -
