Whats up guys this is a great site. Any tips you have for a new shaver. I've been shaving for almost a month now. I am beginning to hate it when the stubble comes in. any tips to keep it smoother longer. I have been shaving every day with a gillette fusion. I love the feel of being smooth but later on in the day the stubble just comes back. I guess thats how it is though. Do you guys make sure and shave daily to keep it as smooth as possible or is there anything else you guys do? I got a bit of a sunburn this weekend but still shaved it and it was worth the pain of just being smooth, even with sunscreen i still got burned, but it really looks good. i hope to keep it up for a long time. any advice would be appreciated

Welcome to SBG! Remember to always apply the sunscreen every hour in the sun.
As for shaving, I shave everyday to keep it smooth.

Welcome bro. Another daily shaver here. Keeping it smooth all depends on your personal rate of hair growth. Though you may find that if you skip a day now and then you get a smoother, longer lasting shave.

Welcome to the Forum!
Shaving daily is the best path to nearly constant smoothness. I think skipping a day once every week or so gives your head a nice break.
Now that you are shaved you MUST make sunscreen one of your best friends!!

Welcome, shaved26. I'm new to this place myself. Been shaving my head for a little over a month. I tried shaving every other day and now I'm shaving daily. I will probably start skipping Saturdays just b/c I don't like shaving on the weekend (including face). I, too, don't like the 'velcro' feeling so that's why I shave daily. Ironically, my hair grows somewhat quick despite that its thin on top.
Definitely, put some sun screen on if you are going to be outdoors. I've only tried the BaldGuyz SPF45 gel and it seems to work well...absorbs quickly without leaving your head greasy feeling.
You'll find a lot of good advice and nice folks in these forums. So take it all in and don't be afraid to try new things but find what works best for you.
Post a pic so we can see the results.

Welcome Shaved26.
It's gotta be every day for me: can't stand feelin like a hippy!!

Listen to the bros about sun protection though, and try not to burn the dome too often

Yep, have to agree with everyone, I shave every day. It's a terrible feeling when the stubble grows back, that's why every morning I usually hop in the shower and start my day with a smooth noggin.

I'm a daily shaver w/ Fusion and starting the day smooth really sets up my mood. I find that I'm getting some sandpaper by 5-6p, but not the dreaded "velcro." That's back in the morning. I've found waiting about 30 minutes to an hour before shaving in the morning also helps keep it baby butt smooth longer, as well as shaving against the grain in a second pass.

Welcome. I've backed it down to about 3 times per week. A lot of people have commented that I look best with 2 or 3 day stubble. So, I shave about once every three days. Personally, I like it slick. So, shaving less often has made the act of shaving kind of a feel-good event and less of a chore for me.

Welcome to SBG!I get sand paper by lunch time and I shave every day. What I want to know is.....do any of you shave more than once a day. I shave in the morning but if we're going out that night I'll shave again. You'll find this often here but I think that most of us enjoy it!! I don't dread shaving, I actually enjoy it!!!Keep up the good work and the next thing you know you'll realilze that you're shaving all the time and can get it much closer with less time and effort.Hope that helps!!
