• Many thanks to the superb Navy Seals and all Special Operating Forces, and all of our military.  After the last three miserable, sad, embarrassing months and after what happened in Europe last week, loyal Americans can be assured they can trust in their military for what needs to be done to save our Republic, against foreign and domestic enemies.

• Excellent!     I was getting concerned when I heard the news this morning that they were getting close to shore.  If they'd made it to land, we'd have never been able to track them down.

  my youngest daughter after hearing this was afraid.  She thought pirates were only in story books. 
  I am like the others...wonder what kind of revenge they are scheming up?

  This may tell the tale of how these guys are organized, if they are in fact organized.  I haven't read a lot about Somalia, but from what I've gathered it is effectively a no man's land, no government, no central authority, the economy is kaput as are the local mechanisms to make any money or have any life.  In those circumstances, the guys doing this, if they make money and they seem to make a lot, aren't going "back on the farm."  It's hard to destroy a group of bandits/pirates if there isn't any central core to break it up.  Someone has to be doing the banking for these dudes since they've collected millions of dollars already, and it would seem logical that they have spent some of the money to upgrade their operations.  In fact I remember some news report to that effect last week when this started.  In today's NYT  it was reported that the SEAL snipers used night vision goggles to see that the life of the captain was in immediate danger and to shoot the pirates.  We're in for an interesting time while we see if they can mount a successful operation to avenge the deaths as they have threatened, and as the Chinese are supposed to have said, "God save us from interesting times."  Meanwhile, I don't think I would take any cruises that go tp this area of the world.

• Have had a strong dislike of these ass clowns since '93. That entire country is a -hit hole and now there are 3 less -hit heads  in it. Great job NAVY SEALS.
