Guys,
Great ideal Cap
For those of you who may be looking for the right size bottle to store your olive oil in (one that will fit perfect into your shaving bag, here's an idea:
Use an EMPTY HeadSlick, HeadWash, or HeadShed Bottle.
They are ideally the right size to store the oil, keeping it handy for when you want to apply the oil as a topcoat prior to your favorite shave gel/cream. Built-in squirt top is a built-in application bonus!!
Still thinking of best type container storage for oil/razor.
Just an idea that hit me out of the blue.

The "Dollar" type stores have a 8.5 oz. bottles of EXTRA VIRGIN OLIVE OIL for around $2.
Great Price and size for either soaking your razors or your head.
As an added bonus, I also found a mini-replica of a 5-gallon bottle of water (18 oz. size) - the type that fits the home/office water dispensers, complete with a pop-top cap and handle. Ideal storage container for your olive oil that will fit nicely and neatly -with no chance of spillage- in your bathroom cabinet or locker.
For convenience of travel though, I think your old empty HeadBlade product bottle(s) are still your best bet.

Thanks for the tip - one of my main reasons for coming on today was to try to find some ways to save money - Mach 3 blades get expensive fast

Just happen to come across this product the other day while shopping here in a local grocery.
First time I've ever heard about the Olivella brand name and line of products was coming across it, strictly by chance just the other day, when shopping. Most retailers do not carry entire line of this brand, but the most common products are the liquid cleanser and bar soaps.

Note: When I got home, I attempted to try a little experiment and this product two ways:
1) Straight out the bottle
2) Mixed with a few drops of e.v. olive oil
BOTH ways worked excellent as a prep for the shave forcometh!!
PS ---> Another little gem of a find that I experimented with, that leaves a brilliant shine on the ol' noggin is, after you finish shaving, mix a few drops of SHAVE SECRET SHAVING OIL, with a mixture of OLIVE OIL and BABY OIL. Rub it all into a wet scalp generously. Let AIR DRY for a few minutes, towel (pat) dry excess, and Voila!!
You have then transformed yourself into a SLY GUY GLADIATOR ready to face anything the day brings on!!!

By the way, fellas - Take a look below...I think I found the "Shangra-La of Shiny Noggins" when it comes to a high-gloss melon.
And the degree of gloss I achieved during a little experiment of mine was quite unexpected, yet welcomed with open arms - (LOL- my laVatory has become more of a laBoratory lately...LOL)
After completion of my shaving session, I took a few drops of SHAVE SECRET - mixed in a few drops of OLIVE OIL, with a drop (or two) of BABY OIL...
Let it all air dry for a few minutes, pat excess with a big fluffy towel and buff to a keen sheen.
I know it may sound like an extremely greasy combination, and a lot of time and effort - but not so.....
It's time well invested to achieve "my ultimate sly guy look"...
The end result is an extra smooth, extra shiny scalp, that is extremely well lubricated, and as soft as a baby's butt..
Life doesn't git' much better than that....
SWEET...
Meanwhile...back at the ranch...

Hey Tank,
I'm on the 10th shave with my Fusion. That's as long as blade has ever lasted me and I can't see ANY sign of the blades losing there edge!! Everything from here is fantastic!!
I've been attempting to shave in the shower (not impressed so far) and I must say, just the left over EVOO on the blade can make the shower a bit slippery. Also, it can make keeping the Fusion very difficult to rinse.
So tomorrow I'm back to preshower shaving and the 11th day. Thanks for the tip I'll keep you posted. -

Hey guys, I just ran across this vid and thought some of you might find it interesting. It's about a woman shaving her legs so don't get too distracted!
It is the only place I have found that verifies the advantages of olive oil for making your blades last.

I used to get 8 - 10 shaves but the last 2 or 3 were starting to get a little rougn. With the EVOO I'm at 10, that's head AND face and the shaves seem as close and smooth as the day I started!

Ok I shaved today and decided that I had enough with this Mach 3 blade.
I used to get 3 to 4 shaves. With the olive oil I got 6 shaves out of one blade.
I did not get any irritation but I will throw away this blade because my razor will
not glide properly.
I washed off the blade well before using it but it seems that even with that, the olive
oil has created this little problem. It can be dealt with up to 6 shaves but that's all.
Maybe fusion blades will be different. I know for example with Schick extreme 3 razors I don't have that problem. The olive oil makes them even better for gliding purposes but for me Mach 3 doesn't glide anymore after 6 shaves, with the 6th one being a little difficult. -

I give a big recommendation for olive oil storage and shaving.
But I just moved into a house for the summer with three people sharing one tiny bathroom and there isn't really adequate space to store a bowl of oil, it would probably get knocked over and slick up the whole bathroom.
I still use Extra Virgin Olive Oil as my undercoat now, whereas before I used baby oil.

Since your dealing with the issue on inadequate space to store an OPEN bowl of olive oil to house your razors, what about a small plastic container with a snap-on lid?! That would virtually eliminate the issue of someone accidentally tipping the bowl over creating a possible slipping hazard. Unless there are more cons than pros (if any at all) involving plastic vs glass, this may be a temporary solution until you can figure something else out. Just a suggestion I thought I'd pass on.

Thanks Noodles, I think I'm just gonna pop off the razorhead into a ziplock bag or some small container with the oil in it. That should work, I could just throw it in a cabinet or back in my room.

Man, it's just hard to imagine why it takes you so long to shave. You sure you're not looking for something that doesn't exist?? Shaving nirvana is attained by very few and certainly not by me. Do I sometimes miss a spot? Yep. Does the razor always "glide" the same? No. Sometimes it will start to drag. I guess these are things that I just accepted as part of shaving. I seldom got a perfect shave on my face and my head being even more area it's impossible to always get it perfect.
Don't get me wrong bro, if that's what you like and you're happy with it then go for it. It's just got the "math guy" in me wondering!

For those of you who have been storing your blades/razors in olive oil for a lengthy period of time now, is there an "unofficial" time frame by which the oil should be replaced?
Even though I rinse my blades throughly before storing them back in the oil, and the oil looks clean,I was thinking that it may be wise to change the oil once a month or so to avoid any chance of microscopic bacteria build-up that we could be, unknowingly, transferring from the oil to our scalps (especially if we nick ourselves).
Has this thought crossed anyone else's mind?
