Hey mike, i'm not too sure on the whole removal part of those trojans :S, but for a good and free anti virus i would recommend anti VIR, or even Avast. Avg is free aswell i think, but i don't rate it as highly as VIR. Avast is also very good, but uses more resources than the others. Also spybot search and destroy, and Ccleaner do wonders. Hope that helps, and you manage to fix your rig soon.
Thanks guys.... I'm going to try some of your suggestions.I looked on the web yesterday on how to remove it and the answers I found seemed pretty involved.I'm running Norton utilities Antivrus..but I'm done with thema fter this.I did a little reserach a few months back and "Bit Defender" looked like it might be a good choice.... but I'm open to suggestions.
Mike,Best free product for home users I have found and tested is AVG. Free basic for home users, and it updates automatically daily. Here is the link http://free.avg.com/It will detect your trojan and vault it when installing. You can try to heal files or just move them to the vault and then clean the vault later.I also would run Spybot with it. You will need to do a manual check with it about once a week or sooner if you suspect spyware, but it works really well. Remember to update the definitions before your weekly update. here is that link http://www.safer-networking.org/en/mirrors/index.htmlI have tried some others but found this combo works really well. Best thing you can do is remove all the Norton crap off your machine, I have never liked any of their products....ANY including Ghost!
