Jump right in...you already tested the water with the creative photoshopping...great idea to do that. Wish I would have thought of that while I was on the fence, errr, diving board. Welcome!

Looks good mate!

To make the transition easier I'd clipper it down gradually over the next few weeks. That way your parents etc will get used to the shorter hair first.
