How about a book called Home Improvement For Dummies
Lowe's - and some other big box home improvement chains - offer classes to get you started on projects. They are usually pretty good for basic how-to.Congrats ... Now you can learn all about home improvement and repair!

Nahh....I use one of them dungeon cave torches...
You know, the one's they used to go after Frankensteins monster...
kinda like a baseball bat wrapped at the top with a big oily rag... 
Unfortunately, by this approach I seem to have compounded the home repair issues.

for the most part the repairs are all pretty much cosmetic, there is one place i need to put a screw in the ceiling and that should do it.... but other than that the fence in the back yard needs work but i might hold that off for a year or 2 to save the money.
