I have a gym membership and I was working out 6x a week. But now that my work schedule has changed from 2pm-11pm to 6am-3pm, I don't feel like working out after being at work all day. I need to get back into the habit of going to the gym because I am paying for nothing and I haven't been in over a month.
its called Pushing yourself....
Same thing happened to me when I changed from second to first shift. I started working out before going into work, I liked not having very many people at the qym.
I can beat that by about 15 months or so before I finally discontinued my membership. Work got overloaded, and i could never make it on my lunch hour (because I had to eat and work). If you're not able to figure out an alternative right now for working out, my advice is to discontinue your membership and not waste your money. But don't lose your focus on getting back. If I had followed my own advice, I would probably be staring at a big flat screen TV instead of added weight and less money in my bank account.
I need to force myself to go to the gym and stop making excuses. I get a discount and if I discontinue and then join back up in the future, I will have to pay a higher monthly rate. My whole schedule is really messed up at the moment.
Go to bed at 11-11:30
Wake up at 5am
Work to 3pm
Fall asleep on couch 5-8:30 (it has happened 3x in a row now)
Then back to bed in a few hours lol
I used to go to the gym first thing in the morning. When I got my current job, I couldn't go in the am since I have to be at work so early. I go after I get off from work now.
You have to discipline yourself. Take your clothes with you and go straight to the gym. If you stop at the house you'll end up distracted or asleep on the couch. I just look at the gym as an extension of my normal daily work schedule.
Once you do this for awhile, you'll get used to it and it will be easier to make yourself go.

This is good advice, once you are thinking of it as part of your daily work routine it will become much easier!!
