I think I've lost the will to live

I'm not going to kill myself. I just never feel like doing anything anymore. I used to be so energetic, eager to do things, and excited about life but now that I've become an adult, all I do is work. After that, I don't feel like doing anything other then sitting at home. Then the cycle continues and everyday is the same. Can anyone relate to me? I want something to look forward to. It feels like I've lost my soul.

Well, I dont really think you are in the wrong forum, I just believe that you are reaching out to who ever will listen to you. I think where you need to take your questions is to a doctor. Maybe you are in a stage of depression. Depression can be caused by a lot of things. There is nothing to be ashamed of because there is help out there for those who need it. I would just simply call up a doctor, make an appointment and see what he has to say for you. I bet you that it will be a simple thing to cure. Dont give up, and please keep coming back inhere and talk with us, but only if you promise to call a doctor. Dont be scared or ashamed. We are here for ya bro. Dont ignore it OK....Promise?

Timmj & Warhawk have given you the answer. Depression is an illness, it can be treated and it's pretty common. The only complication is that people avoid seeking treatment and suffer needlessly like you're doing now. Get yourself to a medical doctor or psychologist pronto. It's worth it because as Auntie Mame said, "Life is a banquet and most poor fools are starving to death!" Come to the banquet.

hey man,
do not worry, I am in a similar stage in life as you, I think, but it is just an awkward transition period, the transition in between the being a kid type of fun and the being an adult type of fun. You have to do a lot of the work of an adult, but you do not yet have the joy of having a loving life partner, kids, an interesting career, your own property and hobbies, etc. It will come, just the transition time is tough. I am only 20 years old, maybe a guy who has gone through this phase can back me up here, but I would say tough it out. If you feel like you need to get counseling or something though do not hesitate to do it.
