Well..... the regulars here know of my distaste for everything about Jimmy Buffett.
Which leads to this...........
I bought a new car two weeks ago and it came complete with 6 free moths of Sirius satellite radio (which I love).
The first day I had the car, there I was switching from station to glorius commercial free station. As I switched, I listened to each for a few seconds, making mental note of what type music was playing, and noticing the name of the station on the stereo receiver.
As I kept scanning thru the stations i wondered how in the world i ever lived without satellite radio!! Each new station brought a wider smile to my face..... and then to my horror, on my new radio, channel 31 popped up with the name Margaritaville!!!!!!!!!!!
Holy sh*t! I about passed out as I realized that my buddy SHCRO no doubt had something to do with this!!!
LOL thats funny. I have a bunch of Margaritaville stuff I just put in the mail for you today! LOL

WARHAWK
My powers are far reaching!!

I actually listened to Margaritaville Radio for the first time last Saturday on a road trip (I don't have satellite radio).
It's not only the world renowned and immensely talented Jimmy Buffett, I heard Steel Pulse, Alan Jackson, and Kenny Chesney (amongst others) on the drive home.
Mike, my friend, I think you're a lost cause.
I was at the lake with a group of coworkers one day a few years ago. It was a company thing where we took a day off and went to the lake in groups. Man, I miss some things about that job...

But anyway, one guy pulls out a 20(ish) CD carrying case and asks if anyone wants to listen to some tunes as he thumbs through the obviously full CD case.. I ask him what he's got, and he says Jimmy Buffet. Someone else who is clearly not much of a fan asks what else he's got. He says just Jimmy Buffet. The guy brought 20 or so Jimmy Buffet CDs and nothing else to listen to on the boat.

Needless to say, we promptly threw him overboard. j/k - I believe we didn't throw him in the lake until much later in the day.
Maybe it's a Brit thing.
Maybe my education was flawed.
But......
Jimmy who?

JB is a marginally talented singer (used very generously)/ song writer (again very generous) that lives the "beach style" of life. He has literally tens of thousands of rabid fans who fancy him as the greatest thing since the invention of the ATM card. These fans refer to themselves as "Parrot Heads", attend his concerts religiously, and get very intoxicated while there...... all while wearing very obnoxious shirts with large , very bright floral designs. Many of them sing along while in their drunken stupor.........embarassing not only themselves but their very families.
It's a horrible thing.........

Man! You REALLY don't like Jimmy Buffett do you? LOL

Yeah......... so?
Yeah, I've gotta say the same here Mike. So....What about the Parrot Heads doing what they do? I really don't have much of an opinion on Buffett one way or the other. I'm not a big JB fan but I will listen to him every now and then just like any other music. I actually like all kinds of music but listening to any of them for too long of a period of time gets annoying to me. That's why I like variety. Just like, I LOVE Bob Marley but I do have to put something else in after a while so that it's not the same ol' thing.
But to make the point I had set out to make....Doesn't just about every concert people go to have drinking and singing along. I mean, except religious music. I've actually personally never been to a concert in my life. Except for some dinky ones at festivals in my area. But even there people are singing along and drinking. Pretty much "making fools of themselves." But I think that's what getting out and having a good time is all about?
