DO YOU MISS YOUR FORMER BARBER/STYLIST?

One of the very few things I actually miss about going sly is my former hair stylist. I had been going to her for over 8 years, and had developed a nice friendship over this time -- and always enjoyed our conversations as I was getting my hair cut.
Anyone else miss their former stylist/barber?

I do miss it. My old barber shop was a fun place. The Barbers where big jokesters and it was next door to the best dounut place in town. It was a good way to blow an hour on Saturday morning.

I met a guy here in town who shaves and he said that once a month on a saturday he will load up his shaving stuff, head to his old barber and has his head shaved. The barber in town here has been aruond since I was a lil kid. I think I got my first hair cut by him. Nice little shop to catch up on the gossip and he shaves this guys head for about 5 bucks. I always liked going in there too because this man is full of history. Each time you talk to him you hear about how it was when he was a kid. I mentioned this in a post long long ago, visit with the elderly...someday all that history will be gone.

since I went bald its amazing. I can stop in any barbershop and get it done or buzzed to 00000. The old days, I had one haircutter during the 70's and one guy from like 1979-1998. Nowadays anyone can do it for me and its 1/3rd of the price.

I do miss my barber, but if I get a better scope for my rifle I might hit him the next time.....$15.00 for a hair cut and I only had half my hair..... shouldn't it have been half price....

Even before I went sly, I cut my own hair, i would usually buzz it to 1/2 inch.

NWTRNR,
As a barber it's touching that you miss your stylist.

Hugs all around!
But seriously there are guys in our shop that stop in and don't really need cuts they just come to socialize, get an edge up or shave basically just to socialize. Any sly guy that misses his stylist or the just barbershop experience should grow a few days of stubble and visit the barber at least a couple times a year. They will find hair you didn't know you had (ears neck etc)! If you can't stand to go a few days without shaving, you could just stop by and buy the stylist coffee, lunch, or a car.
The preceding message was brought to you by the American Coalition of Sly Barbers.....

I can't even remember... it's been that long since I've been to a barber! I was buzzing my own head for years before shaving it clean (over 4 years now)...
So in response to the topic.... no, I can't say that I do!

B4 i went "sly", i would get a haircut every week at the same barbershop 4 over 10 years. the owner of the shop was a retired navy man who i became friends with along with the other barbers. i really enjoyed having my weekley haircuts because of the "fellowship" that all the barbers & customers shared with each other. matter of fact... i try 2 visit once a month & let my barber shave my dome smoooooth.

I still take my sons to the Great Clips that I used to go to. Shortly after going SLY, the manager told me that it was guys like me that were going to run her out of business.
