???Been shaving my head now for a couple of months now. My question is when you guys shave your heads can you still see your hair color on your scalp? I get a super close shave with the Headblade (which is money) and my scalp is super slick. It just does not really appear to be a close shave. My wife has even commented that it does lik e look much different that when I just cut it really short with the trimmers and no gaurd. Just wondering if anyone else is having this same thing happen and if there are any secrets around it. Thanks for any help you can send my way.

That's called "the shadow" and it's the hair below the scalp line showing through. Nothing you can do about it really.
Some guys like it 'cause it shows that they are sly even though they could have a full head of hair.

I don't spend too much time going against the grain on the back of my head but I can get it really smooth in the front and sides by shaving it twice. With the grain and then against.
You can still see my hairline shadow but there's a visible difference using only 1 razor pass. I use sensor blades with traditional handle. I have a headblade but I'm still afraid to use it.

My hair, on the few occasions when it was out to a flat top or stubble, is light brown and real fine. So, after all these years of daily headshaving, I still have a faint line/ From a distance, you can still still it if you're looking for it(I guess)

Welcome to SBG mazeone!!!
The shadow is no big deal. As long as you're slick and smooth, and digging the Sly look, that's all that matters!

Make a post in the introduction thread so the Bro's can give you an official weclome!

One suggestion is that you use your free hand while shaving and stretch your scalp tight while shaving against the grain. It helps raise the stubble and gets a closer shave. Im with several of the other posters in that I dont mind the shadow as long as Im slick and it's lets the world know that I'm bald by choice

Unfortunately I have top quality hair, and it grows relatively fast so I require every day shave, and yes I see my hair line.
Can't wait the moment I start loosing my hair,I'd like to look like Ironman or Mike or Tyler...ahh,perfect,smooth,shiny head...

I got it......bad...can't stand it, but have learned to live with it. My wife doesn't mind it and that's what really matters, but its irritating when family or friends that haven't seen you in a while still comment about me loosing my hair. In high school and college I was the guy with the high top fade....

....man times have change.....

Seems like there's not much that can be done about it, but I've picked up some techniques that I've definitely gotta try. Not sure about the ice cubes, time is short in the morning, but definitely gonna try the double pass, and using a cold water rinse to close up those pores.
