Been getting a few of these reactions lately...
My answer... "Never...Im done with hair"
And I think in my head...did you SEE the crappy thin hair I had ? Why would I want to grow THAT back ?!?
I wasnt totally bald or anything but I continue to feel that most people who knew you with
hair can't get their head around the fact that you
choose to be bald instead of balding.

Yeah, most people assume at first that the shaved head thing is just an experiment that you'll get tired of quickly. And when you don't they start asking when you're growing your hair back.

I got that from my Dad a couple of weeks ago. I just said never. I do SLY much better than I do hair. I like it better this way and have no intentions of going back.
That was the end of the conversation.

I find that the most ridiculous question..
especially if you were balding...
hmmm, ok, "I'm gonna ditch this cool look AND confidence I've finally gotten back and go back to the MPB mess I had before..
you would just LOVE for me to be that insecure bro again, huh? Can't stand the new confident me...dare I say more confident now that YOU?"..
Yea,,, I was role playing...
that's what goes on in this bald head of mine!!!

You guys know what I mean though...
shheesh...people!?!

If I ever do get asked it though, If it's a female, I'm going to ask when she is going to grow the hair back in her arm pits.

There are still a lot of people out there who have bought into the notion that any hair, no matter what it looks like, is better than no hair. if you could grow just one hair on your head, these people would think it would be an improvement over having none at all. Now,
we all know this isn't true, but not everyone is as enlightened.

And just when you thought you were finally old enough that your parents would stop trying to tell you what to do. I go through this sort of thing all the time, though thankfully, it's no longer about the hair.

I hear ya to a point...
buuut who is anyone fooling....when has a horseshoe look appealed to anyone...
now some folks are saying THAT would look better than a completely smooth bald head...
they just want to keep the dude in question down..
really it's a power thing...
complete bald always looks better than half bald...
period...
and that's not because I happen to like a bald head either!

You're right. It is manipulation by others. Perhaps it isn't conscious, but it's manipulation nonetheless. And as I just got finished saying in another thread, part of the increased confidence that results from shaving your head, isn't just from improving your haircut, it's from knowing that you took a stand and did something you wanted, consequences and opinions of others be damned.

Why should I grow my hair back if I can't grow a full head of hair?

Exactly, dog. Most guys who can only grow a thin, patchy beard keep their faces shaved because thin, patchy beards don't look good on anyone. So why should anyone wear thin, patchy hair on his head?

Or another way to think of it is, when was the last time you saw any guy with a shaved head and thought that he's look better with a horseshoe of hair around his head?

Hey! I like my thin patchy beard!
And I'm not gonna stop shaving my head no matter how much hair I have on my head. I get a few questions about it, but it's curiosity. I don't mind people being curious.
