since buying a DE for my face, I have been using taylors sandalwood shaving cream, with a brush, I used it on my head, using a fusion pro, and the shave was better than with any gel or foam I have used so far...so I'm sticking to that!

Has anyone ever tried using Magic Razorless Cream? If so, like it or hate it?

I really hope more people stop using the mass-produced goop that's on store shelves and seek out quality shaving cremes and soaps. Same goes for razors, but that's another story.
Anyway, there are a lot of high quality products that offer a great value and give a superior performance. If they sell it at Walmart, Target, K-Mart, etc. Just say no!!!!
Find a reputable retailer, like Amazon, and buy some quality stuff like
Proraso,
Pacific Shaving Co,
Taylors, etc. You won't regret it!

Maybe that might work. I am also sensitive to a great many fragrances, so that limits my choices as well.

It's been since October 2012 since I have shaved my grape and coming back after so long and reading everyone's posts is making me think I should again...
Shucks, I still have my HB Sport!

What's up everyone I'm new to the site and I been shaving for 2 years. I've used both razors and I like then both. Right now I'm sticking to the 5 because of price. I've also used a lot of different gels and creams and what I find that works the best is hair conditioner. I know it sounds weird, but I get the smoothest shaves ever!! I wet my head first and then run some conditioner in and go to work. Comes out clean every time!

When I decided to go shaved, I initially used Magic Shave as I was afraid that a blade would cause me to "bump up". It actually worked very well and as advertised. Although it can be used by anyone of course, it is specifically formulated for kinkier hair so your results may vary

C. O. Bigelow is good on the face and the head. It's a cream that comes in a tube. Just squeeze a little on a brush and lather up. I've found it at Bath and Body Works.

I used Tabac soap in the porcelain tub. It lasted me a year. Excellent stuff, but it smells a bit like grandpa’s favorite. Instead of buying a new puc, I bought a “Williams” shaving stick, cleaned out the empty Tabac bowl, crushed the shaving stick into small pieces and compressed it into a tight fit. My badger whips up a nice thick froth giving me a great shave. Williams is popular here in SA, but its by no means near top quality.
The last product I use is “PalmShave” shaving cream, Lime scent -- also with the brush. Not bad at all.
I have said similar words before: Once you have mastered wet shaving with a Badger brush and shaving soap, you will never go back to “shaving goo” found in the can.
Nice thread, especially the pics. I wish I had access to all the awesome products in the USA and other countries.
