Hi everyone,
I am not sly myself, but am trying to understand what my boyfriend of 4 years is going through. He started showing signs of Male Pattern Balding at a young age and is now taking matters into his own hands by shaving it all off! I am very proud of him, but he still struggles with confidence issues, and he has become attached to his hat.

I'm excited to be here and hopefully I can get some good insight into what is going on in that shiny dome of his

Thanks Y'all

Sarah, welcome to Sly Bald Guys!
A lot of guys associate their identity, masculinity, or their attractiveness with their hair. Your boyfriend could be feeling that he's losing one of these three with his hair and thus decides to cover up the fact with his hat.
It's great that he took the major step of shaving his head. Now he just needs to get more comfortable with it. I'm sure with time he'll gain more confidence; especially if you continue to tell him how good he looks.

Welcome Sarah. Your boyfriend has already fought half the battle and won if you are proud of him and support him in his decision. Feel free to not just read the boards but if you have any questions, ask away. You will find the people here helpful and supportive.

welcome Sarah. Get your boyfriend to hang out on here. Tell him congratulations for taking a bold step. Confidence will come with time and him getting used to it.
Sounds like he has a good girlfriend and supports him.

hey sarah! welcome 2 the sly fraternity. glad that ya found us. tell your bf 2 "wear" his new, freshly, shaved dome for atleast the "30 day trial". it is the unwritten rule here in the SBG FORUM. after 30 days... one will decide 2 keep his dome slick & smooooth or grow it out. 99% enjoy it and keep it smoooooth. i admire the support & love that U show 4 your man! we hope that U become an active member & get your bf 2 join this awesome forum.

If you like the smooth look on your man, let him know, but not just with words. Actions speak louder than words.
Welcome to the site, sister. It sounds like your boyfriend is in good hands.
