does anyone else find the super macho/tough guy marketing the HB company is doing kind of off -putting? like all the UFC and bodybuilder stuff? and what is the deal with this comedy tour?
I don't know..... it's weird.

I don't find it off-putting. While I can't say that I am a "super-macho, tough-guy" type, I do think that headshaving took hold there before it became mainstream. Interestingly enough, I also believe that I read that it was popular in the gay community earlier too. But it might be good for HeadBlade to do a "everyman" campaign showing all sorts of men who use the HB. This could show businessmen, regular middle class husbands and fathers, etc. Show the guys who don't look like they crush beer cans on their sly dome! This could be in addition to the "tough guy" marketing!

I hear your comments/concerns. I think headshaving really is the "united colors of Benneton" and HeadBlade is the brand. I think an ad showing many different demos is a great idea...we've been toying with one that has many demos represented and the guys are all in the HeadBlade lobby...just hanging out waiting to get their 'goods.'
I think you may be exposed to more of the bodybuilding/mma/harley stuff because it has a lot of crossover in mainstream. We definitely advertise to a lot of other demos..I just don't think you're seeing them.
As for the mainstream stuff...we'll tone it down a bit. Thanks.

Somebody get that man a beer! How many other companies will you find who listen to their demographic like this?

I would love to see a headblade campaign that directly targeted the Bosley Institutes more recent commercials.
In case you guys have not seen it it is a panel of good looking women saying "Men look fatter bald" and other choice comments that all basically elude to how horrible it is to be bald and how women find it "icky".
Maybe headblade should have some model licking a bald head like an ice cream cone or something.

What I find rather frustrating is not the content of the advertisements, it's the lack thereof. Up here in Canada I can honestly say that I haven't ever seen a single ad for any products for us guys that shave our heads. It sure would be nice if there was more advertisement here and if they could actually bring the products as well. All I have ever been able to fine was the actual HeadBlade, and the Matte Head Lube. Nothing else anywhere, and trust me, I've looked. For someone like myself who lives 20 minutes from the US it isn't bad cause I just hop over to CVS, Rite Aid or Wahlgreens but not all of us Canadians have that liberty. Just an idea since I see that obviously those who have created the products are present here as well.

not to stoop to cheesy infomercials, but i would like to see more POSITIVE stuff about being bald. as we know here, bald can be a great thing. those hair treatment companies all target men's insecurities about hair loss. why can't there be something about all the good stuff about being bald? something to make the normal guys feel better about themselves.

Ok, I'm gonna add my 2 cents. First off, I love the Headblade products, but I agree that there is a lack in advertising. I can't tell you how many BBC guys I've talked to in the past month since I went sly that had never even heard of Headblade.
I also think it would be cool if HB offered regular customers to accumulate points from the HB products they buy to use towards getting apparel and other "fun stuff" on their website. (ie. Stickers, mugs, pens, golfball, t-shifts, hats, etc.)

I understand they've gotta make their money, but $5 for a sticker to help advertise?
(I also thought it was funny to see Todd's status being "Learning the way of Sly")
Thanks for all the great products Todd!
