I know when I was in limbo with the decision and when to do it, that the forum here gave a lot of good encouragement.  One thing that stuck out big time for me was that if I don't like the shaved look, the hair will grow back, rest assured that will be the case.  I'm new to this too, only a few days, but it does really have it's rewards and well worth the jump to a polished dome.  Do it and don't look back, it is your choice in the world how you feel about yourself.  Being bald can be a positive thing in your life.  You have the choice.  Do what you feel is right.

Right on!
People are not limited by the circumstance that they are born in. They are limited by the size of their dreams. Show them that their dreams can have no limits and in turn their accomplishments can be limitless.

Welcome to Sly Bald Guys Chicken Hawk!!  If your wife is for it, then you should do it man.

As for Nair like products, there isn't any that I know of that are safe for the noggin.  There is a chemical shave called Magic Shave, but in all honesty, it's really designed for black men and can cause severe burns on lighter skinned men, even when used as directed.

I used to work in a retail store in a predominantly black nieghborhood. Magic shave flew off the shelf every week. we couldn't keep it in stock. I was stocking the shelves and read one of the cans and decided to buy one. waiting at the register I had three black guys tell me it wasn't designed for whiteys and that it would screw my ass up if I used it. so I put it back......They should put a warning on the label "not intended for caucasians", lol
