Hey, I'm new here so I'm not sure if I'm posting this in the right place, but here goes... I used to have my hair at a medium length with a visible receding hairline. I was going for the Nicolas Cage/Jack Nicholson look. However, a few days ago I noticed that my hair was getting thinner at the crown area, so I knew that it was time to start shaving it off. Anyway, today, I shaved it to grade 1, but I'm not sure if I would look better with the completely bald look. Here are my pictures -

How do I look with the grade 1? Do I have the right head shape? Should I go shorter?

I think your head shape is perfect for going all the way with it. I think it will look great. Welcome aboard! Shave it and post another pic.

The #1 is a huge improvement. Should you go all the way? Why not? You're almost there, anyway. If you don't like it, it will grow back out to #1 length in a week. You'll probably want to shave eventually anyway, as your hair continues to recede, so why not find out what it looks like? Even if you don't keep it shaved, it will be less scary when the time comes to do it for good, if you already know what it looks like.

Major league improvement with the buzz cut -- gives you a much younger look. I would say go for it when you're ready, but you know it's already in your head and won't go away until you do the deed. What do you have to lose, other than a little stubble? If you decide to hold off once you try it, definitely keep it at the buzz look.

yup, give it a try. expririence the smooth feeling. it's worthy to go for it. if you don't like the look it grows back fast, like all have said here.
btw, i think your head shape is good.
