Hey guys~ name's Carry. I've had MPB since I was 15, now 21. After all those years fighting, bought myself some 'rogain.' 2 days, and I realized: "there's no way I'm doing this for the rest of my life." Then I saw this website, and all you made me seriously concider shaving it all. I'm pretty convinced I'm gonna do it. Far as I can tell, 100% of men are glad they did.
So I was hoping for a simple rundown of what it takes. Mind you, I've only shaved with an electric blade for my chin all my life.
Thanks guys~ I look up to ya'll.

Hey Carry,
Welcome to the forum. Good choice in second-guessing the rogain. Shaving it all off is a great long-term option that offers much freedom. Sounds like you're leaning in that direction. Consider taking slyness for a test-drive by giving it a 30-day trial period. You can always grow it out again, but I'd be willing to bet you wouldn't.

Carry, welcome to Sly Bald Guys! My suggestion would to go to your barber and tell him that you want to shave it all off and to get close as the skin as possible. Or you can buy some clippers and do it yourself. Then, when you get home, use your electric razor to get it smooth! Try that out for thirty days and check in with us to let us know how it's going.

UPDATE: Oh boy~ I'm on my way. Just went and got the shortest haircut of my life today. About the length of an unshaved shadow. I love it so far. The ladies in the salon approved too

.
Just wanna recap on some research. Of the products I need to finish the beast and keep him down, I need:
1) something to pre-soak (exfoliator) 2) 'shaving cream' 3) after-shave product of some kind.
Am I missing anything?
P.S. I think I'll try the headblade, but I have one silly question. In the instructional movie on the website, it says to start mid-head, and do your grain-shave. (For or against, whatever you decided.) Then go mid-head, and shave the other way to finish the line off. In Tyler's great post, it says to start at the front and go alllll the way back (or vice versa). Probably only a negligible difference, huh?

Awesome bro!
Not a headblader here, but I would go by Tyler's advice...
at least you can find HIM if it goes bad!

I follow Tyler's method and start at the front and go all the way down the back of my head. Then I turn the HB around and go from the base of my neck up. I don't know if you'll see a difference either way though.
