Hello everyone,
Thank you all for your good advice. I finally did what had to be done. Even though I was lurking in the background, you guys gave a tremendous amount of moral support.
Unfortunately, I wasn't listening to you when I first tried to shave it off - bloody mess. I let it go for a week, listened to what I was hearing and tried again. Success!
My wife hates it, but she'll come around.

If you're MPB, I can never understand the hate for the total chrome dome look in comparison?! You're right most do come around though..especially when it gives us such renewed confidence!
