ok smart guys. why is water wet?

Due to the way that hydrogen molecules bond with oxygen molecule and the composition of their cellular makeup, water (H2O) is wet.  It's not until a chemical reaction occurs with the molecules, such as heating them or freezing them, that the molecular composition changes.

i understand the chemical process. but why is it WET. that would be because when someone was making up the english language, they decided that wet was a good word for how it felt. don't overthink it.  j/k Since i have spent the last two days in a hospital, i did a little survey. i asked a few doctors "Why does a guy that shaves his head bald have to wear a cap in surgery. they all agreed that it was a good question, but other than "following conventional procedure", they did not know a real good reason. i love messing with smart people's minds.
