This is like reading about my 7th grade experience where we named our Spanish Teacher "Harry" Toilet Seat after his fringe. Kids are cruel. Taught me one thing though, I was never going to have a "fringe" to justify that name--hence my Sly answer.

Oh man! Part of me (the PC part) wants to say that I feel sorry for the poor guy. How utterly terrible it must have been for him to be humiliated by a room full of school children.
Then there's the real part of me that wants to call him up on the phone and say "C'mon Daisy, get your big girl panties untwisted, grow a pair, and get back to work." I can't believe the dude actually went to court over this.

Boy,when I went to school we wouldn't dare disrespect our teachers like that. I can feel that guys pain because I had comments made about me on that issue too by some people. These kids need a good whack on the ass.I don't agree with these parents who don't believe in hitting their kids.I'm not saying that they should beat them or bruise them but a whack on the ass once in a while can't hurt, just to show them who,s boss. I don't believe in this "Time Out" nonsense.

Kids can be cruel and I don't think there is a secondary school teacher in the UK that hasn't been ribbed for something.
Most of my teachers would take it and earned respect. Indeed, most of the really good ones could not only take it but could come back with such brilliant retorts and put downs. If you can't stand the heat.....

In this case either one would probably suffice.
