yea not saying it doesn't work or not a faster way to shave but it maybe my dome..I will try the other blades out and see..I do have the sport...funny enough I found it at a Riteaid store..
I'm still a noob at head shaving...but I went with the Head Blade Sport right out of the gate and I absolutely love it. I shave with the grain on the top and back of my head, and on the sides of my head I go sideways, so like from my temples towards the backside of my head. My sides are smooth as glass, and the back and top of my head are pretty close to glass smooth, I assume its because I am going with the grain on those areas. But so far, no complaints with the Head Blade. I do want to check out the Sensor blades though, as so far I have only used whatever blade comes with it.

Glad you're having success with the HeadBlade.
Shaving the dome is truly a case of the ends justifying the means. We have a lot of HB users, but we also have a lot of people who can't stand it. Personally, I love the HeadBlade. I will admit, I touch up the sides of my head and around the ears with my Schick Extreme3, but the HeadBlade has been great for me.
As far as which razor blades to use, again it's a personal preference. I use the Atra generic doubles because that's what came with it. I have not tried the triple blades or sensors, since the adaptors that came with the HB Classic are designed for these. I've gotten great results with the doubles and have seen no need to switch.
Good luck in finding the right combo for you.

I just switched to the Sensor blades, previously I used whichever came with the HB. I will say the Sensor blade gave me a better shave. Funny thing is, I bought a 5 pack of Sensor cartridges and 5 of the blades were double blades and one was a triple. Is that normal?
I still have a love/hate relationship with this thing. I thought for sure I had it all down pat. Been using it for the most part for about a month straight now. Then this morning, whack, took a big chunk out of the top of my dome. I was going slow as I could too. I've come to realize that I believe the HB is mainly meant for people with certain shaped heads. I know that nobody's head is perfect but you have to admit that some people have a more "rounded" shaped head than others. I think this is what the HB works best on. If you have too many nooks, crannies, dents, and lumps I think the HB is more of a hassle. That's what I've come to learn in my experience anyway. Because as soon as I go back to the Schick Extreme with the bendable blades I have no problem what so ever. No irritations or nicks. I also notice that it always gives me a real smooth shave at the base of the back of my neck. I can never get that area across the back of my neck smooth with anything else. I guess it's where the blades give a little.
I use the HB sport and love it. I use the HB trips and have no problems with them.
I use the HB like a riding mower and my fusion like a weedeater for doing the edges
