can anyone tell me how to reformat music from wma to mp3? i bought a memory card for my phone and it won't let me use wma files as ringtones, but if they are mp3, i can use them. help please. thanks
I use MP3 as WMA files are proprietary to windows. MP3's are good with everything.
if i rip a cd it is automatically a WMA, RIGHT? how can i make them mp3's
There are several free programs that allow you to rip any file type into the MP3 format...I use WinAmp...
Wma's have better quality, however you MP3's use less space...I prefer MP3's because I can get more for less space...

It depends on what kind of media player you use. Windows Media Player uses WMA. iTunes uses mp3. You can download iTunes for free, if that helps.
A quick google search for "wma to mp3 converters" reveals a bunch of promising hits. You should be able to find a free program to convert your current wma files.
I think that you can change the format that Windows Media Player automatically uses when it rips cds, but I'm not sure, as I haven't used windows for that in a while. I know that the default ripping format of iTunes is mp3, so that is another option.

I know when I started using iTunes, it automatically imported and converted the WMA files that were on my hard drive.
