So far, so sly

I finally took the plunge and shaved my head on Saturday, to mostly positive reviews (my wife likes it, my daughter's not sure, and the dog, cat & goldfish seem uninterested). Today is my first day at work with the new look.
I saw the CEO of my company first thing this morning; she said, "Oh my gosh, you're bald! I love it!" She said she thinks it suits me. Other than that, nobody seems to have noticed. Nobody else I work with on a daily basis has said anything, and I haven't really noticed anyone staring. It's just further proof that I'm the center of no one's universe other than my own. I'm sure I'll get more comments this week, but it's been interesting to see the overall lack of a reaction (other than the one extremely positive one) so far.

That's great! Congratulations. Don't be surprised when someone finally gets the nerve to crack a joke. I think demonstrating individuality makes the "sheeple" uncomfortable!

That's good to hear. Though, I can't say I'm surprised, because it seems to be the same (non)reaction that most people get at work.

Congrats! I'm not surprised either because the move to totally bald is so small for most of us anyway.

Well said.

Set aside that anxiety and save it for something more important.

Great move, Spleener. Amazing how that 1/16-inch of hair can seem like a giant step. I had the same concerns about first reactions at work. Turned out to be nothing to worry about.
Only two people even noticed. One was the Security director. He's ex-military and fully sly by choice. Gave me the thumbs up and told me it was about time I got that last bit of hair shaved off. The other day he told me I need to get a new identification badge showing my bald mug (old photo is from two years ago). Might have to tell him about this site.

Day two of being sly at work...aside from one very positive reaction yesterday, no one has appeared to notice at all. There have been no comments, and people seem to be looking my in the eye rather than at the top of my head. Same story at the library today (we go there every week with our daughter and know several of the librarians by name).
My wife asked me if I was disappointed that people might have already seen me as completely bald and not noticed a difference. I've actually been happy that it's been a non-issue. I already couldn't imagine going back. The only real change has been needing to add a few minutes to my morning routine...hopefully when I'm more proficient with the blade I won't have to set aside quite so much time for scraping the noggin in the morning. I cut it a little bit close for getting to work on time this morning.

Spleener great to hear your Sly look has been met with positive indifference at work.

On the contrary here..............two people have asked me lately, a year or so after shaving, why I went with short hair. Probably they want to join me and dont have the balls. BTW-good look Spleener!
