Ok I just thought of something when I was in the shower and was wondering how good of idea it would be.
Back in basic training I remember our TI used to make us use hand sanitizer on our faces and necks after shaving so we wouldnt get razor burn. I remember it being really painful, but now that I think about it we were all smooth. He was a black dude and had a great complexion and he didnt let the black guys get on shaving waivers and he made them do this. Eventually even they cleared up and got rid of PFB.
Would this be a good idea to use on the head? I saw the kid on the you tube vid do it and almost die. But if it would keep me blemish free up there I would have no prob... I might have to bite the bullet and do it

It's worth a try Nick, especially since it's your head and not mine. lol Let us know how it turns out.

Nic, Let us know how it goes. I might give it a try after a guinea pig goes for it first.

What do you think Gunny Paul? Do you think it might be plausable? Have you heard of troops ever doing this?

Have to tell you Nick, that is a new one on me. Never heard of it before...but then I am old Corps. Seems that a good alcohol rub would have the same effect.

I don't think using any type of alcohol on the face, neck and head is good for the skin. I stopped using alcohol based after shave years ago, and think my skin has been saved by it. I am not sure why more people aren't saying something about all the alochol in aftershave lotions, has to be one of the worst thing for mens skin.

Nick, I agree with Paul. Next time you have a shave, put some hand sanitizing lotion on your shaved dome and let us know the results and we can go from there.
And please be honest re: pain factor.1 being a feather tickle 10 being scalp ripped off piece by piece.

Guys I will be 100% honest with you. I just shaved me head as normal. This time I used Atra's and much smoother than trips BTW. After the cold water and ice cube, I hit the witch hazel. I let the WH air dry then got a big pump of Germ X vitamin E hand sanitizer.
I slopped it on the dome preparing for war.
nothing happened!!

It did not burn much at all! I think Bald Guyz moisture gel stings more than this did. Afterwards I slid on some cold Aloe Gel. I will keep using the hand sanitizer with no other product and see if it clears up bumps on my head like it did on my face in Basic!

Still very little irritation when using the hand sanitizer. Scalp and neck are feeling alot less oily. I hope this helps the red bumps. I am thinking real positive about this though!

Germ X, that's the stuff we had to use right after Katrina when we came back to town before we had good water again. The stuff, in my opiniion literally stinks, and after a while it really irritated my hands. Not putting that on my "crowning" achievement!

I'd be careful using that stuff too much. There's a bunch of people that have gotten really sick from over using that stuff. God only knows what it would do if you used it on your head all of the time.
