It's that time of year again. We're all going to be opening those dreaded boxes from distant and not too distant friends and family.
So what's the "Sly-way" to respond to that God awful present?

So what's the "Sly-way" to respond to that God awful present?
If it was some elderly relative, I'd say I liked it no matter what and keep the darn thing.
But being Sly is about being true and honest to yourself and to others. So I'd tell my younger relatives, "Oh wow I can't believe this. I just got the very same present yesterday. I appreciate all the time and effort that went into buying it, but if it's ok with you, I'm going to the mall for an exchange!!".

LOL. This reminds me of a couple years ago when my mother-in-law was very excited about the gifts she got me and brother-in-law. We both opened them to find a 49ers t-shirt - we're both Cowboys fans.

I was thinking, at least I have something to start the fire with!

I usually respond with ...OH!..............That's nice! with a big grin on my face. Then just shove it back in the box or bag and push it to the side.

So, did any of you receive a X-mas gift you really didn't like?
Why am I asking?

You're probably at the mall returning it!

I received a pair of Chinese-made Hermans Survivors(NOT) boots. They have a bright yellow tag hanging off the side that reads WATERPROOF. They look cool and fit well, but I wore them for the first time today out in my yard walking through the snow taking Christmas stuff down, and felt water on my feet. I couldn't believe it. Thank you Walmart and China ...
Glad I also received Canadian-made Baffins ...

how about just be cordial and polite. "thank you very much." spare someone else the bullsh*t of making them feel bad. it is christmas by the way. ok we got the responsible answer outta the way. now we can get to MY real answer. make a face and ask why they didn't get two of them. one to crap on and one to cover it with? ok maybe cordial and polite was a better idea.

I got two rubber chickens, which were actually presents for my dogs. One of the chickens has been decapitated already.

Not long. It was a quick and merciful death.
