This may have been mentioned already (work has been crazy for me so my forum reading time is at an all time low ...) but I have been using baby oil for a few weeks now with great results. Before I was using KoS oil and then adding Head Slick on top for an extra smooth shave. I have replaced the KoS oil with baby oil and am getting much better results. I think this due to the following reasons:
(1) KoS shaving oil is a very small bottle so I only use 6-7 drops, while baby oil comes in a huge bottle for the same price and I just splash a teaspoon to tablespoon size amount on there ... so there is much more oil involved and the bottle still lasts longer since it it so big for the $$
(2) Baby oil is intended to be a skin moisterizer for babies I suppose, so not only does it provide extra lubrication for the shave but it also hydrates/protects skin. I have notices my skin is much healthier from using it daily with the shave.
I buy generic baby oil and at the rate I am using it one bottle lasts 1-2 months (and I apply liberally). If you haven't tried it, I recommend giving it a shot. Great stuff

I'll have to give that a shot. Since I have a newborn in the house, I'm sure we have some baby oil somewhere.

Fester liked this alot! Used it on my face too in a hot, steamy shower. Lathered on some headslick after I put it on (also on face), let it sit for a minute, and off I went.
Wow...nice and close and smooth...smelled good too. When I got out of the shower I put about 2-3 drops on my hands and applied it to my dome for a nice shine and a great smell.
Thanks Much...Fester

well i have been trying the baby oil for several days now and i'm completely sold on it! i used to get razorburn on the back of my neck, but since i've been using the oil it has COMPLETELY disappeared. i highly recommend this to anyone who is having trouble w/ razor burn or dry skin. it leaves you feeling smooth and very glossy. there really is nothing to lose it cost a buck for big bottle at the dollar store. kudos to X for discovering this...the man is a genius folks!!!

Ok when I was at the drug store the other day and bought some baby oil they also had Baby oil gel.. I was reluctant to buy it since I have never heard of anyone talking about it. Im wondering if this could be used by itself??

I dont see why it would be a problem as long as the scent does not irritate the skin

WELL GUYZ... I tried mixing the body oils and baby oil AND... well it doesnt want to STAY mixed the BODY oils are mineral base and the baby oil is something else , SO when you pour the body oil into the baby oil bottle it drops like lead to the bottom ! you can shake it up and it WILL kinda mix but gets cloudy and stays that way about 20 minutes and then starts to seperate again slowly. But once its shaken thourghly it works/smells fine. SO, if you can find the body oil than matches your favorite COLOGNE , there ya go ! mix up a batch and try it for your self. YOU should try a travel size babyoil and a small body oil bottle so if you DONT like it , you've only wasted about 3$ also, I save a old VISENE bottle

and refilled it with my HEAD POTION #9 (and threw it in my coat pocket ) to keep it handy for the "winter wind dry outs"

I was using Shaving Secret until I decided to try baby oil, the bottle I have is mixed w/ Aloe and other skin softeners. It's cheap, it provides a great shave w/ Headslick, so it's now part of my routine. I'm keeping the shaving secret for travel purposes, it's certainly under the 3 oz. limit for carry on.
