rawgutts.....1st of all welcome 2 the sly fraternity. i am a die-hard fusion (manual) user & it gives me the smoooothest shave & i never had a cut, yet. i know that it can b quite expensive but 2 me....the ultimate goal is having the best shave. 4 me the fusion rocks. however.... everyone has different views on the fusion... i believe one of the sly brahs (shakf) tried the fusion & he didn't like it. so....different strokes 4 different folks when it comes 2 razors.
anyways....hope this helps. what is your review of the fusion? does it give ya a good shave? u can go 2 ebay & get some gr8 offers on the fusion. that's where i purchase my razors. anyways....keep us posted on your decision & post up in the INTRODUCTION section...so that we can give ya a proper welcome.

Thanks for the welcome Warhawk..
To be honest I like my fusion alot and the trim blade rocks for the hard to get spots. I use it with the JACK head shave cream, but I am thinking about trying out one of the oil products ( no clue what one ) because the creams tend to clog up the blades. I do buy my fusion blades from good ole costco, so their is a little discount.

Welcome rawgutts!
I can't speak to the Mach 3's advantages or disadvantages because I have never used it. However, I am a huge fan of the Fusion (manual and/or power) - for my face. I have never cut myself due to any fault of the razor. Usually it is because I am not paying attention or am going faster than I should. Anyway, as far as my head is concerned with regards to the Fusion, I just can't get nearly as close with it as I can with the HeadBlade.
Just this morning, I was using the Fusion to clean up around the ears and sides and I had to make multiple passes before I was satisfied with the smoothness.
There are TONS of opinions on razors here. Basically it boils down to what works best for you and your head shape/skin type.

Welcome Rawgutts...
I use the Fusion for my face... IMO, it gives a much better shave than the Mach 3 did...
Also, if you don't like clogged blades, stay away from shaving oils! I like shaving oils and use them frequently, but I can always count on about 5 extra minutes added to the shave cleaning the blades out.
If you want to try shaving oils, a couple of good ones are by King of Shaves... Alpha Shaving Oil and Kinexium Shaving Oil.
Personally, I mostly use HeadSlick and KoS Alpha Shaving Gel, which are both great products... I've heard (from a little birdie though) that the Bald Guyz Shave Gel blows both of them out of the water!! I'm going to order some soon and try it out...

Welcome, Rawgutts, I've tried all of them. I do like the Fusion and that is what I am currently using. I have used the Mach 3 and think it does an awesome job also. Next to the fusion, I would recommend the Schick Quattro Titanium. It does a great job and seems to be alot better prices than the Gillette razors.

If the Fusion is working for you, stick with it. You can get blades on Ebay for pretty cheap, just make sure you're getting the real blades.

I personally prefer using the Wilkinson Sword Quattro Titanium which I think is the British equivalent of the Schick Quattro. I think the Fusion Power I bought were probably counterfeits from ebay.

I was happy with the Mach 3 for years, and then I went to the fusion. when I went back to the mach 3, it felt like a butter knife.

honestly, never cut myself with the fusion (even when not paying much attention n going too fast or hard) but find that it's easy to cut myself with Mach 3. N yes, for me fusion is a lot closer, but the price is as some have said, more than the 3 of course. try em both, but personally, i'd go for fusion.

OK, I haven't used the fusion yet, I just couldn't see paying the price for it and the blades. Being an IT guy, the geek in me wants to try the power fusion, but the price still stands in my way. I have used the Mach 3 for as long as I remember for my face, which I still do. I was unclear to whether you meant for face or head or both, but I have to stay with the headblade for the noggin and the mach 3 for the back of my neck, around my ears and face. I use headslick, which rinses clean for me. One note- I am a shower shaver which could make a difference, I think the heat before the shave allows the pores to open better for a closer shave, and I do not get any irritation in my routine.
Some blades can make a difference, but sometimes changing routines can make a big difference as well, just food for thought.

Warhawk,
Would you believe Wally world is out of the manual fusions.

Just got back and all they had was the power or some stupid kit for 20 bucks. Being the work week I don't have the time to jump around so I will look for one this weekend. But get this, The S3's I use for the headblade are gone, not even a place for them on the rack. Looks like wally has decided to get Personna blades over the sensor. I went ahead and bought a 4 pack of TRI-FLEXXX blades due to no choice, but at least they were cheap. $3.42 for the 4 pack. I will see how many shaves and how good per blade and write a review on them. Will have to delay the fusion test till later.
