Just curious to know what products that you use in your head shaving routine.
Mine is pretty basic. A few drops of King of Shave oil to prevent rashes then apply Aveeno shaving cream. I'll then rinse and apply witch hazel. I'll use Aveeno moisturizer with SPF 15 but I find it greasy.
Has anyone tried BldBro products such as the Daily which gives a matte look with SPF protection. it runs on the high side for cost.
For a high gloss, I'll use aloe gel. But there are days I want a matte finish.
what are you guys using?
I'm pretty basic. I just use a razor and shaving gel with moisturizer. I'm thinking of using a product to leave my head matte on some days.
I keep it simple as well. Cremo shave cream and Fusion razor.
I make my own glycerin shaving soap. Nothing complicated, I buy the glycerin blocks at Hobby Lobby, add a scent (usually Patchouli) and melt it down and pour it into silicon forms. I wash my noggin with this, usually in the shower, and scrape it off.
The glycerin provides plenty of "slick" so the razor glides smoothly.
I also make an aftershave that is just combined ingredients that somebody else makes. It's a combination of approximately 2/3 Witch Hazel, about 1/3 Aloe Vera gel, and a little "Osage Rub" which is available on Amazon. I add just enough Osage Rub so the scent is present but not overpowering and adds a bit of sting when I apply it. It kinda reminds me of Clubman/Pinaud which is what all the barbershops used to use when I was a kid.
I got lucky a couple of years ago and found 2 blade carts for my original razor, a Gillette Sensor XL. So I'm mostly back to using that after experimenting with a number of other razors/shavers.
