I have been wearing facial hair now for most three years and just got sick of it. And there’s a barber I have noticed more and more of the return of the guys shaving off their beards And wearing only a mustache.
I went to a fellow barber on Saturday and treated myself to a hot towel straight razor head and face shave retaining my eyebrows and mustache. I have been in several social situation since we’re people know me very well and no one seems to have noticed!

@Semi-Sly , I've noticed that too. Mustache only seems to be the newest trend. Right now I'm sporting a high and tight recon and letting the beard fill in next to the goatee. I'm not sure hair on the top with shaved sides and back are a good look for me, but it's something different for awhile. When I go back to shaving my head, I think I'll try the mustache only look.

The solo mustache is most defiantly making a come-back, and I don't think it is just for Movember. Granted, many are only for Movember, but they are gaining popularity. I guess the old porn-stache idea is finally over.
A solo mustache is also a lot easier for younger guys since for most of us, the mustache is the first area of facial hair development.

I’ve shaved off my beard in the past and only a few people noticed. People liked it. But Going clean shaven with a bald head was something to get used to! I felt completely naked. For thanksgiving, I was thinking of shaving the beard off again just growing it back to just a short scruff.
I was going to grow some scruff on the head for winter…..so I didn’t shave for a week. but I am now very thin on top so I just shaved it all off. It was nice to have my smooth dome back.

@Razorhead , I know what you mean. My head was getting cold so I started shaving only the sides and back. I still have pretty good coverage on top, and the stubble feels pretty thick as it starts growing. I made it 3 weeks and shaved it off. As it grows out, it feels like fine baby hair, and doesn't look good. I guess I just have to admit my days of having hair are done. Two days ago I shaved it all, and boy it felt amazing!
I'm still thinking about shaving the beard and just keeping the mustache.

@reddog i tried fading the sides first but it all seemed like a feeble attempt. So I shaved it all off.
But you would look great with a mustache. I say do it. Have you worn a mustache before?

@Razorhead , I've always had some sort of beard with the mustache. A few years ago during the pandemic, I shaved all of it off. I didn't like it at all. Of course it could of been the shock of such a drastic change.

@reddog when I shaved my beard off….i just game myself some time to get used to it….like our own 30 day rule. I actually liked being clean shaven but shaving both my head and beard took up too much time in the morning. So the beard came back.

Honestly, the same thing happened to me when I shaved my head. Some people in my office did not notice for over a week.
Just shows how little we actually see when something is familiar.

I had a beard 25 years ago. It was more work keeping it up than it was to shave so I ended up shaving it off. Most people didn’t seem to notice when I started shaving my head a few years ago. If I go a few days without shaving now, people ask me if I’m growing my hair back. I guess everyone is used to me being the bald guy.

I don't think anyone would notice. My brows are getting out of control but I wear glasses so I just buzz them off yet, nobody notices or at least they're not saying anything.
