Hey all just wanted to jump in here and see how everyone was doing. Weekend here was jammed packed of activities. WE had Football homecoming...in which we lost 28-0...which sucked. We had the 20th Century Chevy Carfest/Cruise In. What was so cool about the carfest was there was this 1956 Chevy...everything orginal. The guy who owns it has never had it out of climate controled areas. He entered it into this carshow ( which is all outdoors) being that this is the first one and will be the last one. THis car...has only...get this...5.6 miles on it. Yeah you talk about a beauty. Everything original. He even has a trailor that he hauls it in and a pulley system to load it cause he doesnt want to get the miles on it as he moves it around. He starts it up everyday for 10 minutes. The car...is insured for 6 million. It was just amazing to see a car that old with that few miles on it. Just a cool car. I got some pics I will have to post them for ya

no plans to sell it ..yeah you could only get about 3 feet in front of it..he had it all blocked and roped off. He thought about taking to that Car Auction....cant think of the name of it at the moment..but he doesnt know what to do. He said someone offered him 1.6 million for it. I would have taken it ...I dunno...sweet looking car. It had a cloth roof ./convertable. All black paint job, orginal wheels, everything..he said it has never been out side in the sun. He even had a canopy over the top of it ...he didnt want a bird to fly over and make its mark on it.

While I do admire the care and love that people put into old cars like that, I just cannot fathom having a car that serves no purpose other than to show off.
5.6miles?made in 1956? What?
I mean a car was meant to be driven.NUMSAYIN?

I agree too, guys. I'm a big fan of classic cars, especially Chevy's from the late 60's/ early 70's, but to not drive the thing gets me. That's a big part of the enjoyment. Cruising down the road, and you know everyone is checking it out.

That's nuts....sounds like a sweet car though.
My weekend was crazy, my grandparents are selling the half-acre they live on here, and since I have some junk out there, I had to get it cleaned up. Started at 7 AM Saturday and made one run to the metal recyclers by noon. Went back then we had some lunch. By 4 we had two pick-ups and a trailer loaded for the dump. Then I went to pick up a trailer I had stored at their place, stopped by the house to clean up and went to my cousin's for dinner. At about 10 we decided to go do some boot scootin. Left the bar around 12 and got to bed about 1. Up and outta the house by 7 the next morning and took my trailer to my other grandma's house about 50 miles or so east. Did a couple of things around there, then went back to my grandparents place in town. Got some borrowed tires and wheels put on the back of my 1969 Chevy pickup and moved it to the house. Then the wife and I went to pick up the kids from my mom's. Stopped by a friends house on the way home and unloaded about 100 bales of alfalfa hay.
I'm tired today fellas.......

I can appreciate a beautiful / fast / powerful / restored car. But to me, cars are basically transportation. Original '56 Chevys notwithstanding, they are really a bad investment. Again, just my opinion.

Have a 1961 Chevy Biscayne that was the Grandfathers. Hope to fully restore it one day.

Fairly good; it's in need of a tune-up and tires, but the body is solid and the interior is in good shape.

drank a couple beers, rode the four wheeler with my son for awhile, put carpet in my son's room, cooked, cleaned, hung out with you guys, drank a few beers, hung out with you guys, drank more beer, etc. etc. not real exciting but was a good weekend anyway.
after posting i realized i should clarify something. i did not ride the four wheeler after drinking. did not want you guys to think i was an idiot. i would never endanger my kids or anyone else like that. libations came after atv's were put away for the night. thank you.
