mln, I just hit my first month on Sept. 2nd., and yes, it is great!, no turning back now.

I shave every day, and can't imagine going more time than that.
I will post up smooth noggin pic when I get a good one.

Let me tell you man, I was exactly where you were at. Look at my older posts you'll see what I wrote and how far I've come.
When I shaved my head, I felt a little worried at first. I thought about it, and I went back and forth from confident to unconfident. This lasted a good couple of weeks. Now I don't think about my hair at all. Hair is so unimportant in the bigger scheme of things, and you will come to realize this when you shave your head.
I also feel very strongly and confidently about how I look now, way more than when I had hair (I have somewhat of a receding hairline). Get off the propecia too, that stuff made me feel depressed, womanly, etc.
Your 6'1" frame should fit the look well. Chicks dig big dudes, just because they are big. Women are attracted to that. The shaved head will make you seem even bigger more masculine, so that in no way is a bad thing.
The best feeling is when more and more you start forgetting you had hair, and your mind is so much free to think about other things and enjoy life.
I had your same concerns about attracting chicks. Two weeks ago I went out on a date and ended up hookin up with a beautiful girl that I never was able to do anything with previously. THe following weekend I pulled some chick at a bar that was a sexy little chick that my boy described as "Fergie but with a better body", and this last saturday at the beach some chick just walked by me and waved at me out of nowhere, I got her number and she is talking about all the physical stuff she wants to do. Then that same night I went to a club, not feeling really social, when some fine ass chick just jumped on me and started dancing with me. And I'm a measly 5 foot 6 dude
THIS STUFF NEVER USED TO HAPPEN TO ME WHEN I HAD HAIR. It is most likely the confidence more than anything, but wow, it is amazing the liberation from your insecurities and strength you feel. Stop messin around and shave it.
Oh yeah, and it has made no difference with my family or friends, most either told me it looks good, or they don't tell me anything.
DO IT, and give it 30 days, you may feel a little up and down at first, but it will stabilize, and you will be a bold, bald 6 foot plus dude pickin up chicks....and stop listening to your dorky ass friends, tehy are just trying to keep you down.

Oh and about the buzz cut, I had the buzz cut with the zero setting on the clippers, and it felt good and gave me a real good idea of how I would look completely bald, but I didn't get the liberation from my hairline that I was looking for. I didn't get that feeling until I shaved it completely bald. I'm addicted to shaving my head now. NO STUBBLE.

I've been sly for about a month and a half, and I did the buzz cut thing to ease into it as well. I started with a #4. Waited a week and progressed to a #3. Waited two weeks and #2, two weeks ... #1 ... two weeks ... #0 and then sly. Now, in retrospect I would just jump straight to sly, but it's easier to say that once you are used to shaving. Sometimes gradual is what is needed. Either way, if you are thinking about it now, you will eventually try it ... you've got the bug. And once you try it, I seriously doubt you will want to return to hair. Good luck man!

from you 'hat' pic I would say quite honestly that you'd look good bald ! I'm not just saying that. I think you will look edgy and 'radical' with a shave. it will make a really positive statement. Sometimes it's hard to imagine how we'll look bald; and that it will look good. Look at the before and after pics in the gallery and look in the regular gallery as well. My "real" pics are there; and it's amazing how much better I look shaved ! don't worry about social suicide. It's only hair; it WILL grow back if you don't like it. And if this 'experiment' fails ; a few weeks later and NO ONE will remember the shave. People have very short memories. And on the other hand; you'll create a small riot when you show up at social events with a clean dome. You will be the center of attention ! Don't be scared about that -- ENJOY IT ! !
All the best,
John

Guys, thanks for the comments once again.. they're all great and hopefully I'll be able to post some sort of "after" pics soon enough. The way things stand, I was gonna go get a buzz cut today with my roommate, but he kind of chickened out at the last second. I talked him back into it for tomorrow though, so we'll see how that goes. I know I should be able to just go do it myself, but somehow it's a lot easier to go into this with someone else. Either way, hopefully I'll at least have a #2 buzz by tomorrow night. From there, I'll either keep it at that for a while or go completely bald sooner than expected.. it all depends on my hairline.

ChicoD ; I think you need to adjust your attitude a little in regard to "chicks" I know it's just a word; but you never once use the word "woman" or "girl" in this post. You also seem to be referring to women primarily as pieces of meat that exist solely for your arrousal and pleasure. I hope I don't seem like a wet blanket; but I think you need to "grow up" a bit and get over this shallow view of the other half of the world's population .

Actually, I found your post pretty entertaining, Chico. But, I guess I'm a 46-year-old that acts half his age.

Mate I am new to this bald thing as well.
First it's only hair and if you don't like it smooth it will grow back.
I think its a bit like a taking a bandaid off of your arm thats well stuck.
If you sit and think about pulling it off you stress about it.
If you pull it off slow its hurts.
If your rip it off in one quick yank its all over and you wonder what all the fuss was about

Best of luck.

It's guys like you who laugh off their demeaning comments about women (and other groups?) that give the rest of us a bad name. Whether you are 23 or 93, women deserve your basic respect. Names / terms DO have meaning. (for example, how many people would dream of using the "N" word today?)
