I finally took the plunge (all tho not completely shaved) and I feel phenomenal. I buzzed it down to a 1 and I feel like a new person. I now very rarely think about my hair loss (well at least no where near as much as I did beforehand.) please let me know what you guys think!

Did you buzz yourself, or have barber or friend help out? I did my own when that day came. Then just kept taking the clippers down a notch every several weeks until I was buzzing no guard. At that point, some friends here on SBG and elsewhere asked "What keeping you from the razor blade" and I had no good reason.
This #1 will help in getting a bit of a tan on top, although that really develops when you use a razor.
It's a good feeling, isn't it!

Looks outstanding! Nice head shape, should look excellent shaved. You wouldn't believe the difference in 1/8 inch.

Reddog is right. That last 1/8 inch is a big deal. If you like the #1 .... when you are ready, give the blade a try. You'll be back to #1 in about a week if you freak out. But most guys who try it never go back.

Quick update: My girlfriend did the buzz for me, and I've been re-buzzing it every 5-6 days. I really do like how it looks now, but I can't shake the feeling that all skin will look all that great. I definitely do not think about it nearly as much and even when I do I know it's not the end of the world, but I definitely do feel better. Are there any of you guys that felt/feel the same way?

Yes, I definitely feel the same way. I always feel best about myself when my head is fresh and clean shaven.
