Ok I have clipped without a guard for a couple of weeks and would like to go sly but to shave seems such a big step and I don't know why given the length at the moment. Also I'm concerned about the work I'm used to the quick wash and go and shaving would be every day wouldn't it? Any thoughts?

Once you get the hang of it, it only takes a few minutes to shave. It's not a lot of work.

Welcome, Dragon!
It looks like you're sly already to me! I do see a little peach fuzz, but maybe try with the grain for the first shave so you can get used to the razor and then go against the grain on the second or third shave. Good luck, it looks good especially for a no-guard.

Razor shaving just takes some practice to get the time down to a reasonable amount. A lot of us are shower shavers, and for me it is less than an additional 5 minutes in the shower, and no mess. The first time it was more like 20 minutes. So I suggest you give it a 30 day trial.
I prefer to daily shave to keep it smooth, but it is not required. Especially with white/gray hair, there is little shadow and you can get by with 2 to 3 days, or even longer if you like. The difference between daily and every other day is just in the feel, not the look.

At this point, the difference is feel more than look.
I really enjoy the feel of the smooth bald head after a shave.
I don't always shave my head daily, but the feel is the big attraction.

Not everyone shaves daily. It all depends on what works for you. As Razor X and SlyBeard said, the time it takes to shave becomes minimal once you get the knack. I started out at fifteen minutes at the sink, but am down to about three minutes in the shower now.
The bald and bearded look suits you.
