Ive never been all that much for facebook other than as a way to keep up with friends who have moved to different cities, or to post about the occasional something exciting going on in my life, so never really became much of a time consumer for me. Just a few min here and there in the morning, and when i first get home from work. Maybe occasionally if im bored during my breaks at work as well, but nowhere near as much as some people i know who use it as their primary means of communication

Congratulations to you for deleting your page, if that was what you wanted. As for me, I've made some friends on Facebook through this forum, and I think it's not a bad thing to have. You just have to limit your time and the number of people you let into your cyber circle. Facebook is not for everyone, and I truly respect those who elect to delete their page, or simply not have a page at all. Cheers!

A tool is only as useful as you make it. Personally, I find Facebook a useful tool for keeping up with family and friends I'd otherwise easily lose track of.
Anyone who starts posting clickbait gets unfollowed or unfriended, especially if it's of a political nature.

Clickbait seems to be taking over! I can't stand it!

What is clickbait?
There are so many things that people share that are lists of facts or "facts" that have you clicking through and navigating around or through several ads just to find out the top ten shows of the 80s or the 17 best foods for keeping weight off... or whatever.

I agree with Slybear, it has some uses, but I limit things. If you post stupid crap several times a day, you get unfollowed. I also limit friends to only people I know well and communicate with regularly.
I did use Facebook to post my new look right after I first shaved my head. It gave people a chance to see me newly bald for that first time, and comment on it. Luckily, most were very positive.

I quit it for about 2 years, but It has become such a way to communicate I had to go back. My friends were always asking me why i hadn't replied to their messages about an event invitation, or just a general hello. I got tired of going through my I'm not on Facebook but you can email or call me speech.

I just found myself getting tagged in so many stupid things and wasting time that should be better spent !! I have exams coming up in two months so had to pull the plug.I check in here about twice a day for 5 mins which i find better.!!I think it is good if you're in a big country like the US but i don't see the point of selfies and the need to tell people about what you drank last night !!

I'm not big on posting or sharing a bunch of things on facebook, and I don't really take the time to sit down and get "sucked in" too often. However, I keep my account because it makes planning/coordinating things with people SO much easier.
I'm a musician who gigs a couple times a month, so creating events for gigs makes it so much easier to get the word out to people. Also, things like birthday parties or other events (like a friend's bachelor party I have coming up) are so much easier to stay informed and in the loop with on facebook, rather than trying to dig through emails and text messages.

I like facebook. It's great to keep up with people I don't get to see especially as I moved from the South to the North of the UK. However I keep my numbers small, I don't add anyone I don't know and review my friends regularly. I never add people I haven't met and even newbies I have met get deleted I we then don't communicate on fb. If people don't comment on my stuff, or they don't post themselves, then there is no point us being connected. It's about putting some effort in.
I did 'delete' my twitter however as I found I had no interest in the day to day lives of people I don't know. Plus everyone on twitter has FANTASTIC lives and can make you feel like you're a bit third wheel. I don't get tagged on rubbish with fb but did on twitter I kept my twitter but deleted all my followers. I keep the account to follow things like the ISS or if there are specific things I may want to search from but I don't tweet from it.
