Stumbled upon this site and forum yesterday so I thought I'd give it a try.
I'm Dan, I'm 52 and live in Florida. I've been bald (by choice) since 2004. I spent a lot of my life worrying about going bald the way my dad did, and for some reason, when it didn't happen to me, I decided to make it happen so I could stop worrying about it happening

and I've never looked back and wouldn't have it any other way.
I shave my head at least once a day, but sometimes twice (morning and evening). I usually use shaving oils rather than gels or foams because they often dry my scalp. Razor of choice is usually Proglide. I know there are cheaper options out there and I've tried most of them, but they just don't do the job I want them to do. Once in a while I use a Merkur DE but most of the time, I'm a Proglide fan. I'm not a fan of Headblade razors but like their head scrub and moisturizer.
And by the way, the FedEx puzzle that I have to enter on every page is super annoying!
Anyway, that's me. Thought I'd say hi.
Dan

Hi Dan, welcome to the forum. Over ten years of shaving, nice.
I'm bbc too, a great way to get rid of my grey hair. I lived in Florida for 4 years, couldn't stand the heat. That's before I start to shave my head. Maybe I should have tried it there, it would have been much cooler!

Hey, your head looks great, it suits you. As for Florida, things are definitely cooler with a shaved head, but during the summer (and sometimes winter too) I have to rinse my head with actual ice water after shaving or my head just sweats and sweats. I always rinse with cold water, but ice water is a must have in the summer. I'm very very happy I took the leap to baldness. I can't imagine growing my hair back under any circumstances. My beard is pretty dark but has some grey and ginger in it too so I assume my head hair would be similar. Not that it would be bad, but I'm a whole lot happier with a smooth dome

I share your first name. I'm visiting Florida this month. St. Pete right now, and Pembroke Pines next week.
Getting more sunshine for winter blues treatment.
BBC for almost 4 years. Welcome along.

welcome, I first shaved my head about your age many years ago. I have been shaving it mostly since. I have used proglide and like it however now i have using hydro 5 - seems less prone to cause nicks, for me anyway.

Thanks for the compliment Dan. The bald/beard look good on you. Yup the heat in Florida was just too much for this Minnesota guy. I wish I could come down for a few months in the winter though. I lived just east of Pensacola.

Thanks guys, it's nice to be here
Welcome Dan! You've come to a good place.
Hey AJ Q-Ball, you look a LOT like my son! He hasn't shaved his head (yet!) but facially you could be twins, and he has a beard very similar to yours. I guess he's around the same age as you too.

Hey, no problem, and thanks for the compliment too. Silly I guess but when someone compliments my head or my beard, those are the best compliments I could get

I moved down here from southern Alaska in 2011, so I hear you about the heat. Winter is great down here but the summers can be intense, to say the least.
The Pensacola area is very nice indeed. I am further south, in central Florida, between Tampa and Orlando, and it's like one big swamp in the summer

Glad you found and joined us, Dan. Your dome looks great.
I am another who shaves twice a day if I can. I also stick my head under cold water in the summer due to the south Texas heat.
Welcome!

Hey, thanks a lot

Yeah if I don't use cold water in the winter, and ice water in the summer, I literally have rivers of sweat running down my face, and that's never a great look
