No longer fully sly - had to change my name

Hi Guys:
Well, I kept the fully sly look going from January through June. That is the longest I have ever been able to do it. But I am no longer fully sly so I had to change my name to "Semi-Sly"
I do not like shaving my own head and the weekly trips to the barber shop were getting too expensive. Also, I get so envious when I see other guys with flattops - that I let the horseshoe grow back in. So now I have a high, tight and brutal horse shoe flattop. I still shave the back, sides and opening of the horseshoe - and I am trying to do that myself. I have been shaving every second day.
Sorry if I have disappointed anyone.

Sorry if I have disappointed anyone.
Seriously?
What I have found to be one of the greatest attributes of this board is that just about every guy's approach to his hairloss or style is welcomed.
Quit apologizing for what works for you, sir.

Like Cave Dweller said, there's no need to be sorry. The purpose of SBG is to help guys be comfortable with being bald, shaved or not.

If it works for you and you're happy with it, that's all that matters.

It's all about encouraging someone to be themselves, at least you tried.
I'd like to see a pic of the new style.

I applaud your six-month period of slyness. As a prospective sly guy, if the bald look doesn't stick with me, I'll be spending some time with flattops. Would you go sly again?

Yes, I will definitely go sly again. While when sly I miss the look of my flattop, when I have my flattop I miss the great feeling of being sly and "clean". (I guess that the "grass is always greener...."). What I still have not gotten the hang of is shaving my head myself. I don't like doing it and I cannot ever get it as smooth as my barber does.
What usually prompts me to shave my head is when there is a charity fund raiser for a kid or brother in blue who has cancer. If I can lend some moral support, (and raise cash for the cause) I don't mind giving up the flattop. I have lost too many brothers in blue to cancer; and we lost a child in our family to cancer, so I have a real soft spot for that.
Last year I was sly twice. The first time it lasted only three months. The second time it lasted six months.

No need to apologize. We just enjoy your participation. In fact, I need to start my own apology thread to the forum...that's coming soon.

Whatever you feel comfortable with is fine with all of us. I still like the newly shaved head and my scalp is good after 11 years. You donations for cancer causes is commendable too.
