I tend to have more oily skin on my head and face, and no matter what kind of aftershave or lotion I'd use it seemed like my skin would either get worse or just feel oily all the time. So I have decided to just try a week or so with out putting any lotion or aftershave on and it seems to be helping. I was just curious if anyone else has tried anything similar and what the results may have been.

There are many oil free moisturizers with various SPF levels. Neutrogena is one that is reasonably priced.
Consider using one of these, if for no other reason than the UV protection. You'll thank me when you're older.

I suspect I could go without moisturizer, as my skin is naturally quite oily. However, I do like how it feels when it put a bit of moisturizer on, especially since I use the Jergens with the bit of self-tanner in it.

I rarely use any type of moisturizer, and I too have naturally oily skin. If I plan to spend time outdoors, I will use a sunscreen, but that is it. When I have tried a moisturizer, my head feels very oily.

Not exactly on the subject but as far as the use of moisturizer I use Gold Bond for Men on my noggin prior to shaving. It seems to soften up the hair somewhat and lubricates the skin. I get a really nice shave when I do this.

I haven't been using anything. I have never been able to use any kind of after shave on my face because it causes acne. I would be worried it would do the same on my head.

After I shave my noggin, I first rinse it off with cold water to close the pores. I then use witch hazel and then a moisturizer. My skin gets dryer now that I am older and it gets dry now when I shave my head. I have been using HeadBlade glossy headline which givese a good shine which I like.

I use an aftershave lotion by Aveeno. I like the cool feeling that it gives and it does give it a nice shine.
I know what you mean about the oiliness though, I have the same issue, but had to deal with an oily face my whole life so it doesn't really bother me much that my head gets oily.

I have oily skin on my noggin, used to use witch hazel and tea tree oil etc.... But for me, an alum block leaves me oil free all day, cheap and last for ages

I generally use it just after shaving, but not any other time.

I use aloe vera gel. It's good right at the start of the day but my head is usually oily at the end.
